Palin: Prejean a "Victim of Malicious Attacks"; Dr. Tiller...Well..."I'm Pro-Life."

Priorities. Palin's outrage against the treatment of a pageant girl and the meanie media is impressive. A few phone calls placed in support of Carrie Prejean, Miss California, and a press release from SarahPac. Today, the governor's facebook memo read:

June 1, 2009

"I feel sorrow for the Tiller family. I respect the sanctity of life and the tragedy that took place today in Kansas clearly violates respect for life. This murder also damages the positive message of life, for the unborn, and for those living. Ask yourself, 'What will those who have not yet decided personally where they stand on this issue take away from today's event in Kansas?' Regardless of my strong objection to Dr. Tiller's abortion practices, violence is never an answer in advancing the pro-life message."

Governor Sarah Palin

May 13, 2009

"The liberal onslaught of malicious attacks against Carrie Prejean for expressing her opinion is despicable. Carrie and I spoke soon after the attacks started; I can relate as a liberal target myself. What I find so remarkable is that these politically-motivated attacks fail to show that what Carrie and I believe is also what President Obama and Secretary Clinton believe - marriage is between a man and a woman.

I applaud Donald Trump for standing with Carrie during this time. And I respect Carrie for standing strong and staying true to herself, and for not letting those who disagree with her deny her protection under the nation's First Amendment Rights.

Our Constitution protects us all - not just those who agree with the far left."

Governor Sarah Palin

Marginalize and ridicule. Yawn.... These Alinsky tactics are old news.

Palin marginalized and ridiculed the state's Natives. Think Emmonak.

She marginalized and ridiculed state residents who want to save money on energy. Think stimulus funds for energy programs. No other governor refused these funds.

Palin marginalized and ridiculed the majority of the country with her self declared small town values. Check the Wasilla crime rate and her ethics, or lack of them.

Ironically and unknowingly, she marginalizes and ridicules the GOP.

The "community organizer with responsibilities" just loves Alinksy tactics.

Governor, Prejean wasn't "attacked" by liberals because of her conservative viewpoint on same-sex marraige. Being a beauty queen she was, like any public figure including yourself, fair game. Her reply when the photos surfaced, "I am a Christian and a model," combined with her excuse, "I was only 17 at the time," made her a laughing stock. Underaged Christian naively bares breasts, poses in panties, yeah! C'mon, Palin, quit the same-old opportunist spin doctoring: that's what your kid was doing for Levi during those sleepovers! Prejean got to keep her crown. Vanessa Williams didn't!

She wasn't attacked at all... she was rightfully exposed (pun intended) as being a clueless, bigoted, hypocrite who, as lowly as this sounds, was therefore deemed unworthy of being selected as the winner of this ridiculous contest. Her idiocy made for good 'news', but that news had little to do with her personal beliefs regarding gay marriage.

The huffington post and this blogger won't allow it. Every time she twitches a muscle on her itchy trigger finger, this site and blogger write about it. Its time for these people to take down their Palin dart boards and move on, she's been marginalized, destroyed even. I am pretty liberal, but watching the destruction of this women has been kind of fun to watch, but really unneccessary. We should thank her for getting Obama elected and move on. Its really quite sad.

Stefano,

Perhaps you should turn on FAUX NEWS occassionally. Palin is constantly mentioned in the top 5 GOP Leaders and 2012 candidates. I appreciate Shannyn's documenting her continual gaffes. Like it or not, you have not heard the last of her. AND...while on the one hand, I can see why many people want her to be the 2012 candidate, on the other hand, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!! I don't want her anywhere near the GOP 2012 nomination. I would rather have any other right wing hack win the GOP nomination than Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin is not going away quietly. She's NOT GOING AWAY PERIOD! She is very much like the whack-a-mole game; she keeps popping back up-and that is certainly NOT because of liberals' coverage of her.

Keep up the diary Shannyn Moore!

I don't understand the point of this particular post. We all know that Palin has trouble placing priorities, but this isn't really evidence of that. I mean, she may be governor, but she does have the make comments on current events right? (and considering each comment took a couple minutes maximum to write). Let's focus on what's important and not on frivolities.

The point of this post is very plain... Palin clearly had much stronger feelings about Prejean's treatment by the 'liberal media' than she did about the murder of Dr. Tiller, which should give anyone concern about her misplaced priorities.

More and more, it seems clear that Palin is just about as radically, dangerously, far-right as one can get.

You don't understand? Hmmmm. Let's see. She talks about the "vicious attacks" suffered by a poor little augmented, bigoted beauty queen, and calls the brutal murder of a physician a "tragedy, but", like he got hit by an errant baseball at a Yankees game. And the "but" leaves no doubt that she is okay with the fact that he is dead and she feels he totally deserved it. So, to recap - calling out a beauty queen is a vicious attack, a brutal murder is a tragegy, but........

In her speech in Evansville Indiana, Gov. Palin showed us the road map to stop abortions, and its not by violence. She spoke of making the decision to have her baby. In 100 years when all women follow her advice there will be not need to overturn Roe V Wade, as it will be obsolete. Her speech that night will be the moment women's hearts began to change. Thank You, Sarah.

In Sarah's policy world, what then would she do legally to an abortion doc? She consulted a doctor over her unborn son when she found out he had DS. After the moment of doubt and reflection she has trumpeted her decision to keep the child. What then would Ms Sarah's decision be on any doc who performs an abortion on a similar situation? I shudder to think.

What do you mean it was at a McCain rally? Let's remember Palin didn't have her OWN rallies she was runnning for VICE PRESIDENT behind John McCain who was VOTED in by the republican party to run for PRESIDENT. Palin was picked to run with him by McCain and his people a pick we know they are very sorry they made. Palin was the opener for McCain at his rallies and she was the fear and hate talker she was the one that would get the right wing nut jobs all fired up. It was her recklessness that caused many of the problems at the rallies where people (more then one) would yell out some very frightening things.
Oh Ms Fu you really need to come out of the clouds and take a look at the real world.

It primarily comes from jealousy. Many people are jealous of the left, and the liberals because they are the intellectuals of our society, the intelligencia. The republicans have nothing left. The journalism major strikes again, - Sarah your a conservative target. Its the liberals that target you.

Shannyn astutely revealed the dichotomy in Sarah Palin's thinking (used loosely) in two public statements. One made in resounding support of Miss California and the other in resounding support of the pro-life movement while expressing her rhetorical sympathies to the Tiller family. Palin's statement regarding the Tiller murder reminds me of Ann Coulter's eulogy at her father's funeral. Coulter made the eulogy about John Edwards. Birds of a feather.

If two statements don't draw enough concrete conclusions on Palin's priorities, consider her statements made in rally speeches in the 2008 presidential campaign. Her comments were so incendiary they provoked the outrage of millions including many Republicans who fled from the GOP. One rally after another, Palin established herself as a divider. She's on a roll.

The one piece of advice Palin seems to have listened to is probably, "Keep your name (or that of your unwed-mother of a daughter) in the news EVERY DAY or they'll forget about you..."

Whoever offered that advice wasn't doing Palin a favor, however. Palin has picked the celeb and men's magazines, the wingnut radio talk show hosts, and her very own bullied and browbeaten local newspaper as outlets for her pronouncements.

And her pronouncements reflect her bizarre "me first and I'll pretend I care about you if you worship/vote for me" attitude, as evidenced by what happens to anybody who criticizes her.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 08:35 PM on 06/01/2009

I agree with what Palin said the only problem I have is that she didn't "say it" it was some sort of a press release. She is pulling a fast one by doing those press releases. It's bothersome that someone like her, who isn't qualified and and has to rely on press releases, may end up getting the nomination by doing press releases and giving speeches that someone else wrote. That is wrong. Even though I agree with what she "said."
