Bill Clinton Is Out Of Control

Bill's behavior this weekend gives me pause. It seems to me that he is in deep emotional trouble. He may realize that he may have destroyed his wife's campaign. This would be the second time he has hurt Hillary. I know he wants to compensate for the deep hurt he caused her in 1998. That put an awful strain on their marriage. The next real challenge for the Clintons will be whether they can save their relationship if she loses. Given Bill's recent behavior, I think he knows that the stakes for him are more than a primary loss.

It's been interesting how many of my progressive friends and family members thought Bill Clinton was a very good president yet at the same time make comments like, "the problem is if you vote for Hillary you're going to get Bill." I'm not endorsing or condemning that attitude - I just find it very interesting in it's seeming contradiction. It must be something that really perplexes the Clinton campaign.

I fear for anybody who thinks they understand anybody else on the basis of soundbites and bias combined. Self-educated psychoanalysts sans degrees and insight come to foregone conclusions. Before this weekend, the Clintons were no good because (fill in blank), and now, the Clintons are no good because (fill in the blank). Insightful analysis it's not, but at least nobody's charging an hourly fee, so this stuff is worth every penny. Kudos!

Bill Clinton hasn't just doomed his wife's campaign, he's also ruined his own legacy.

Some people just don't know how to quit when they are ahead.

Someone mentioned that Hillary will get a well deserved divorce if she loses the nomination. I say she should start proceedings now.

I was for Sen. Clinton before I was against her. As a New Yorker, she's served her constituency well. Obama inspires and wants to unite this country and we definitely need it. When she allows her husband to act in this way, she shows she either cannot control him (or her campaign) or that she is just as divisive as he is. Bill Clinton has a lot to do with my decision to vote against Hillary Clinton.

Forget Teddy Kennedy, Bill Clinton is the best campaigner that Barak Obama has at the moment! He is constantly reminding people of why so many voters were tired of his administration.

Bill Clinton was one of the best presidents of the 20th century, with unrivaled peace, prosperity, and a balanced budget. Unlike Jimmy Carter, however, he's becoming an awful ex-president. Why can't he act like an ex-POTUS? It's not in his nature to be wise and mellow. Look at his stupid last minute pardons at the end of his presidency. As the Big Dog he handled the turmoil he left in his wake; as a sub-alpha working for his wife he just growls a lot.
Why so? My cheap psychoanalysis is as follows: he is a damaged posthumous child reared in an abusive home. He learned to mollify and placate as a child. He got attention by being a "perfect child" and needs it desperately. Unfortunately he also learned to act out through his (untreated) sexual addiction. His marriage is a co-dependent complementarity of pathologies. She shoulda dumped him years ago.
Moreover, he sabotaged his own presidency by acting out, handing the Republicans the opportunity to tie up his last two years through impeachment and take him out of the 2000 campaign. He did as much as Ralph Nader to lose that election. Either Arkansas or Tennessee would have put Gore over the top regardless of Florida. He knows this. Now he's (unconsciously) sabotaging Hillary's campaign.
On the left we are very forgiving of others' "private behavior." Unfortunately, public office trumps private lives. Why return this melodrama to the White House?

Wow what a substantive, well sourced meaningful post.

Maybe Bill doesn't want Hil to be president. He's not the kind of guy who likes to be in the shadows.

I don't care about their relationship or what happens to it. I have seen the real Bill Clinton, the real Hillary Clinton and the real Chelsea Clinton and I find it off putting to say the least. Hopw Obama runs them out of town with a win. Let's see what else this family will do to divide, throw their own party off the bus, insult patriotic Democtratic voters who went out in bitter cold and snowstorms to exercise their vote, and frantically calling super delegates to twist their arm because they have run quite a dysfunctional campaign and might lose.

Hillary as the nominee will lose the election. The hatred of her is palpable amongst Republicans and Democrats that she has insulted will not vote for her . Independants hate the war which she voted for. Some say they will hold their nose and what a sorry sorry way for an American to vote for a president if this is what they think they must do,---- time after time after time.

Bill Clinton out of control? We should all return to the glorious days of the Clinton administration with a scandal a week providing such inspiration to the 43 percent who voted for him. These were the glory days.

Countess honey, when you mention the Clinton administrations "scandal a week" shouldn't you also mention that 99% of those scandals were fairy tales invented by the right wing attack machine? Or were you one of those simpletons who believed the endless lies that the Clintons were involved in multiple murders, that Bill Clinton was a rapist, that state troopers procured prostitutes for Bill, ...etc.

No! That would ruin the mood here in Let's-Shoot-Eachother-Before-The Republicans-Draw-Their-Guns-Land. It's the New Politics Of Tomorrow: Candidate takes the high road (mostly, or should I say, 'periodically'))while self-appointed surrogates rail against his opponent and make threats to the effect that if their guy doesn't get it, the party loses the surrogate's vote, who will then support McCain etc., because after all, the opponent is so terrible you must be too if you support her, and besides, her husband is a terrible fellow also.

Bill wants to repair his failing marriage on the backs of Americans. He wants to sarifice America to win back Hillary. Now he is unhinged like a psychotic off his medication. He has become such a pathetic joke.

I cringe at what he'll do or say next...and I will be deeply offended if his behavior rewards his wife with the Democratic nomination

Bill's a cold-sore,.......

...........on the lip of Hillary's campaign.

When he flairs up,.....it tends to be unsightly & embarrasing.
