Will Rogers once said: "I do not belong to any organized political party, I am a Democrat." Never were such words so true. It is too bad that the DNC leaders look into the rear view mirror for their ideas. They are letting the country go down in order to gain an advantage in 2008. That wont cut it for me and others who are in the Democratic wing of the DNC. Desperate times require desperate measures.
Today I applied to the FEC for new political party status. I am calling it The Truth Party and I welcome all rational people to join me. It will become effective in 2009. You can email me at sdrobny@truthingOv.org. The 2 party system is now dysfunctional and is a hindrance to our nation's well being. Below is a portion of my FEC application. Please join me.

The Truth Party
Getting money out of politics must be the #1 issue. And I will wager that if we succeeded, none of these parasites currently in Congress would ever run again. They would immediately resign and go to work directly for the corporations to help them fight against a non-corrupt government in which it is illegal to bribe the politicians. The corporations could not tolerate living in a fair country. And our politicians support them 100%.
Believe me I support the sentiment. My login name should tell you what I stand for.
But truth is a delicate thing. Will your party claim to Know the Truth and then, presumably tell it? Will you party seek the Truth and then reveal it.
Claims of possession of truth or defending the truth, etc. are hard to make. Well they are easy for some to make, but hard to actually demonstrate.
For myself I would prefer a party of balance - conservative when we need to preserve a policy because it works for the good of all and progressive when we need new ideas and solutions to new problems. I would like a party that stands for honesty, fairness, and the quest for understanding through rational, fact-based knowledge. There is no ideology in such a party, other than a belief that such a party would produce great leaders. In the end, of course, even that is an empirical question!
Finally, I think it is time to go beyond narrow nationalism and recognize the reality of a global society. I would like a party that is dedicated to the betterment of the world, not just looking out for our national narrow interests. I don't accept that the USA being the best at everything (Olympic gold medals, number of Nobel Prizes, etc.) is in the best interest of the whole world. Nor do I accept the USA being the cop on the block is what will lead to peace.
My own pipe dream party could never be because it requires too much selflessness and thoughtfulness from the masses. That is something I have given up on for reasons I have posted several times in these blogs. The average human being does not have the cognitive machinery for wisdom - sad to report. And the modern world doesn't value wisdom in the few who do possess it.

Will we still have elections in 2009?
I for one support a Democrat from the democratic wing... Barack Obama.
I will not give up on reclaiming our party as long as there is hope.
Ok, count me in!
Will Rogers also said: "People talk peace. But men give their life's work to war. It won't stop 'til there is as much brains and scientific study put to aid peace as there is to promote war."
We've got to convince Dennis Kucinich to switch his affiliation too! He's the only sane one out there among candidates. Thanks, Mr. Drobny.
