I have a treatment for a new Hollywood motion picture called "The Fall of the American Empire." Let me give you a little perspective.
Last week I wrote a piece about Will Rogers and his famous quote: ""I Am Not a Member of Any Organized Party -- I Am a Democrat." I suggested in that article that the only way this country can change is when American leaders understand that the "American Empire" is like a house of cards. And the defense budget ($750 Billion) that is providing corporate welfare is robbing the people of this country of their rights to a decent life. That budget which Eisenhower warned us about in 1961 is also providing the means to kill many innocent citizens of foreign countries. This is not new to the current administration. Every President since World War II has been a participant in American war crimes as defined in the Nuremberg Laws after World War II.
In my fictional movie, the people have had a peaceful overthrow of the criminal executive branch of the government and have called for a new constitutional convention to reorganize the branches of government. America will create a parliamentary type system in which the prime minister will be accountable to parliament at any time and the administration of laws will truly be a partnership between the prime minister and parliament. The new government will turn over to the World Court all leaders who have participated in War Crimes. Those will include all living former Presidents and their cabinets who have committed war crimes. The movie would start at the end of the main trials after all these former Presidents and their cabinets had all been convicted and sentenced.
The main focus of the movie would be the war crimes trials of the media owners and their spokespersons that propagandized this country over several decades. As we all remember, Joseph Goebbels was the Minister of Propaganda for Nazi Germany. He was as responsible as anyone for the war crimes committed by the Nazis and he was in control of the media in Germany. What makes the crimes of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, and Fox more egregious than the Goebbels crimes is that they all did it for money even though they may have known better. Goebbels and his wife actually killed themselves and their children in Hitler's bunker because they really believed in the Nazi movement.
This movie would have several people in the "dock" besides the owners. They would include Chris Matthews, Tim Russert, Angela Mitchell, Tom Brokaw, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Really and others who broadcasted false news reports to convince the American people that our leaders were justified in committing war crimes. And it would include those who reported the news and actually remained silent even though they knew better just to keep their jobs. There are many so-called liberal hosts in the news divisions of these networks who went along with the official releases of the government even though they knew better.
The harshest of penalties would go to those who knew better and still reported the news without commenting about the consequences of the lies they were reporting. They would all be charged with aiding and assisting in the commission of heinous crimes by the American Empire and the sentences would be quite severe.
Naturally, the lead prosecutor in this movie would be George Clooney. Perhaps he would produce and direct it. Wouldn't it be fun to watch a movie where at last these media whores would suffer and be punished for the fraud they are knowingly perpetrating on the American people? I would love to have 2 hours in a theater where I could fantasize about this happening and satisfy my frustrations. Please let me know what you think.
