What Motivates White Female Democrats?

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

My last post, White Women Supporting Hillary: A Paradox at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/sheldon-drobny/white-woman-supporting-hi_b_86448.html was really a query rather than a conclusion. Many of the comments from women attacked me for being a sexist. That is not relevant. What I was asking in that post is whether white female Democrats are supporting Hillary based upon gender rather than competence and character. It is a fair question. If the answer is based upon gender, that is wrong. And one additional point should be made. I supported Hillary. Check my post in December in support of her at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/sheldon-drobny/the-real-hillary-a-probl_b_77518.html

Wait, you simply asked a question in the last piece? I'd hate to see what a commentary looked like. "The gender bias of white elite women supporting Hillary is based upon gender bias and has bad racial overtones." I think I'm missing some question marks.

Yes blessingx. The Q was why are white woman being racist? If they are voting based on gender and not competence, what would be your conclusion? Or is this a team sport?

I'll say it once again, for the lip-readers:

Anybody who supports a candidate based on something so superficial as their genes and chromosomes is just idiotic.

How about family and education and health care issues? Or wanting someone with practical solutions instead of vague rhetoric and "hope"? If you're talking about moms, it's practical.

(i'll add tho, that tons of older women have been bypassed for promotions at work while younger "hotshot" men without experience got the better job, so that's in there too)

Instead of whats good for my country lets vote for war for Iran because that's what my Jewish constituents want. You have financial troubles tough luck I am for the real money and back the bankruptcy bill.To stop illegal wiretapping and hold the telecoms accountable cant be bother.Yeah I can see why white women would support this

Sheldon, I think you're just going to have to get used to enduring the slings and arrows of the outraged commentariate whenever you broach a hot button issue. Feminism, race, religion, morality, and the composition of sausages spring to mind.

Of course, this leaves little of interest to write about. That's the rub.

Why would should you need to say that you supported Hillary, I wonder?

Oh yeah, one more question...
What if the people you were talking about were elite white men and they were this venomous, dismissive of his experience & condescending to Barack?

They aren't, or maybe white women don't understand how some things are dismissive to Obama, bc they aren't of mixed race/ they aren't the other in that way. Let's stop ranking oppression.
