Kathy Griffin and Glee Cast Roast Jane Lynch at TrevorLive! Gala (WATCH)

On Sunday, December 8, What's Trending hosted the red carpet for The Trevor Project's "Trevor Live" gala - the 15th annual, star-studded event that raises awareness and funds for programs that help LGBTQ teens in crisis.

The Trevor Project's 15th Annual Trevor Live Gala host Kathy Griffin talks about her fabulous dress that *cough* Chris Colfer designed, and shares that laughter is the best medicine.

"She's so great. I really think she exemplifies everything that's great about this cause and this organization," Griffin says of Hero Award honoree Jane Lynch. "And if Jane Lynch can't put you in a good mood in dark times, then I don't know who can."

As host of the gala, she says, "I'm going to bring the inappropriate funny." And for the viewers at home who may be struggling, she adds, "I do believe laughter is the best medicine." For example, Chris Colfer will watch Elaine Stritch videos to cheer himself up.

As Griffin notes, "The unsung thing about the arts is that they can really pull somebody out of a dark, dark times."

Trevor Hero Award honoree Jane Lynch couldn't have been prouder. "It means the world to me," she says of being honored this year. "'Glee' is very much about going to a place where everyone has your back, where you're celebrated for who you are, where you don't have to fall into the lines of any strict societal meme. And Trevor Project started doing that years ago."

Not surprisingly, The Glee cast was out in full force to support their co-star Lynch.

Fresh from winning "Dancing With The Stars," "Glee" star Amber Riley joins us to chat about her journey through bullying, and how to persevere through hard times.

"Everybody's been through it," she says to the viewers at home who may be struggling with issues of their own. "But look at me. I made it. I'm 27 years old and I thought the world was going to end at 18. And it didn't. So, keep trucking. Keep going."

"When I fell into the Hollywood rabbit hole, this was the first organization I got involved with," Darren Criss added. "It's nice to know that this is something that I can continue to be a part of."

He also points out that his favorite part about TrevorLIVE is the social media interaction. "I think it's really cool that we live in a day and age where it isn't closed off at the gates, that people at home can ask questions and get involved."

For those watching at home who may need some extra help, he says, "You have resources and you live in a world where you can surround yourself with people who support you ... and who are more than willing to understand you and help you out."
