I could get into the details of the costs of living in California on one paycheck, or I could add that my wife has been diagnosed by MS, and I could go over my budget and expenses with you over the last twenty years. But to look at what I saying above and ask "Did you think it would last forever?" shows that you are both missing the point and attempting to place blame. I believe your intentions are good, but I find your question slightly insulting as well as naive.”

“They do help a lot of people. In fact, the church has paid tens of millions of dollars in legal settlements to victims in dozens of clergy abuse cases over the past decade. This is not counting all of the money that the church paid to the lawyers for legal fees. Think of it as the Catholic Church Economic Stimulus Plan ;)”
