“I am sick of organized religion, christian or muslim. The Christians in this country bashing everyone and the extreme Muslims killing themselves and innocent people around them.
I am sick of some questioning Obamas church going. I could care less if he goes to church or not. We had a church goer as a President, we had a party who fell over themselves as church going crooks. Going to church and banging the Bible make you no better than me.
Terrorism is here to stay. I say strip search everyone. Christians and religious fools first”

“I live in California, it is law to have car insurance. This is not the only state.
I had a friend, white manle 35 who had zero health insurance, went to the County Hospital for 10 days, the BILL, 85,000, who got to pay for it? Tax payers. The real problem is the Senators who have the power as a single Senator to stop bill or force concessions. Obama taught Constitutional Law, he gave Congress HealthCare reform. I think the tactic worked, or this bill would have died, Obama or not. Its not real reform, some good changes and some not. But it is a step forward. It really exposed how disfunctional the Seante is.
This nastyness stared in 1994 when the GOP took power and were after Bill Clinton, and it only escalated in the Bush years. Look how many of those so called moral leaders are in jail or booted out of Office. Then you see thses GOP Bozos saying no to everthing. They are the Lobbists. Rich white crackers, who hide behind the Bible. If they were so rightous, Healthcare would not be an issue. They care zero about the common folk.”

“Sad to say, powerful positions in a country that prays to the dollar, will always have corruption. The GOP has been the worst, this party cares about no one. The health bill does contain some good elements. You want change, put more progressives and Independent in office. If we had 4-5 more Progressive or Independent senators the Healthcare bill would have a public option. The GOP does not stand for change, status Quo is their motto. I feel bad for the part of the country that believes in the GOP principles. Most Dems and Independents really care about this country and not afraid to push things forward. This health care bill can always be improved. And the final bill is still not done, let us see what happens.”

There has to be a strong third option, a progressive canidiate, but they will run into the same BS Obama has. Old senators who have their own agenda. We need to throw all those old school fools out and add new blood, ones that support workers and climate change, and healthcare.
As I said from the beginning of the 2008 Presdiental race, if Obama complete 10% of what he said he has done a good job.”

“Please remember that both the House and members of Congress were outraged that Obama held secret meetings and guaranteed deals with Pharma and the insurance industry at the very start of things, tying their hands to do more in their bills early on, such as drug re-importation. Obama and his admin (Rahm) have strong-armed progressives from day one, while praising Republicans who where obstructionist and calling the process death panels, instead of pushing for real reform and standing up to support HIS campaign promises. While Reid and others in Congress have been wimps, the White House has completely propped up those who have threatened to filibuster or block real reform.

This recent survey doesn't reflect anything less than what the majority of Americans have wanted from the beginning, which has been ignored from the outset.”

Littlewords replied on Dec 18, 2009 at 11:14:51

“While the core of the matter is in congress, Obama sure can do more here!

He can immediately...

1) Declare the "must haves in a bill coming his way"
2) Threaten a presidential VETO on any bills short changing the declared must haves
3) Tell his staff to stop slamming leaders in his own party who are now opposed to this travesty of a reform bill.
4) Get withthe business of reform rather than "deal brokering" as the WH priority!
5) Stop listening to Rahm's bad guidance on this matter!

The President is too consumed with wanting a bill to sign, rather than consumed by the language in the bill. It seems he wants to be seen too much "backing the winning horse" bill rather than acting Presidential and weilding the power of his office to say "look, the bill better contain the following, and if it does not my VETO pen comes out!"

The President needs to spend less time brokering a deal and more time driving defined reform on behalf of the people or his popularity will continue to slide (only faster) and the Dems will lose some seats at the midterms. His WH staff made the wrong bet on this and now team WH is paying consequences.”

As I have said before, the present GOP, not the Teddy GOP, needs to go away, kill them off, breed them out. If more GOP arer elected with their same stupid ideas, or lack of, I will fight them so this country gets nothing done. They are the party of old. We need forward thinking people.

Remember ANWR. The Gop had the strangle hold of the senate. McCain made the difference and that was the end to opening ANWR. Obama can not make the change, the system needs to change. The GOP will never do it. So it is up to the populists and progressive dems to do it. Get the Libermans, and Ben Nelsons out for starters, and kill off the present GOP. How do you convince the center of the country they are truly going to get screwed. We worry about debt when the GOP managed to take a surplus and mount our debt to the ceiling, but we can not pass healthcare reform. We will spend billions on Iraq and do not take care of our health care isssues. I feel for Obama, why did he take on such a challenge. I am sad for this country.
