How To 'Fix' The Sunday Morning Shows

“Fact checks by Massive Media?! On this planet?! The Massive Media is no longer news but simply ambulance chasers and hyperbole. They have no forward thinking or foresight. Think Iraq, WMD's, Katrina, Wall Street Failures; did they sound the "alarms" before these major stories? No, because they can't.”

“Mr. Reich. How long did it take to dig out of the collapse of 1929? You are a man of History; tell us? The Great Depression lasted about 10 years. Regardless of the internet, unemployment insurance, social security and the other provisions put into place; this Great Recession with probably last 3 - 5 years. Now. How long did it take for Congress to act on regulations for the banking industry and markets after 1929? Four (4) years. Remember, we are still living with a 17th Century Government system.”

“What can you do about Credit Cards with bigger banks?”
repearwo replied on Dec 30, 2009 at 10:45:00
“Work them, pay them down and then try to use them only for items that you can pay off each month. Most Credit Cards do not charge interest if you pay them off each month. I use debit or Check Cards only. same convenience no interest payments. Start paying off all Credit Cards. Focus on the smaller balances first and pay them off, then move up the line. We did not get into this mess over night it will take a while and some real discipline to get out of it.
When it gets overwhelming, remember you are taking back your life with you own work not depending on someone else to do it. Your children are watching. They need to learn how to deal with life. They may not want to give up things but how you deal with this now will shape how they deal with adversity as adults.”

Jimmy Stewart was a Republican, but It's a Wonderful Life is a Great Movie and this video interlaces his work with modern times. Now, I did finance a vehicle with a Credit Union. I do try to keep my savings in a smaller - local savings and loan. However, my mortgage is with one of these big banks and I have no idea of how to change that. Any ideas?”

“Well. Lets see. I suggest you compare the Preamble to the US Constitution with Article 1 Section 1 that mentions certain "free persons" and "three fifths of all other persons." That should give you an idea of what was in the minds of "Politicians" in the 1770's. Has that much changed in 240 years? As for having to buy a private companies product. Well. How about Auto Insurance? How about business terrorist insurance? Social Security? Should the government tell you what not to buy? Just a flip of the coin, so to speak. Can I still buy a Ford Pinto? Want some lead based paint? Asbestos? How about government sanctioned items like cigarettes? How about when the Government favors a certain industry over another, i.e. wheat farmers in Washington, Oregon and Idaho get dams built to produce wheat but the Salmon fishermen suffer from lack of fish? Lawsuits over trying to get more people health care? There are bigger fish to fry DRJ.”

“The sad truth is that Lieberman was doing Obama a favor by helping Obama keep his deal with the for-profit hospital lobby that there would be no public option, while keeping his own hands clean. As I reported in an earlier Huffpo blog ("Who's Killing the Public Option? President Obama With a Rahm-Bow") the White House made a deal with the private hospital lobby last summer that there would be no public option in the final bill. According to the NY Times, "Several hospital lobbyists involved in the White House deals said it was understood as a condition of their support that the final legislation would not include a government-run health plan paying-Medicare rates...or controlled by the secretary of health and human services. 'We have an agreement with the White House that I'm very confident will be seen all the way through conference', one of the industry lobbyists, Chip Kahn, director of the Federation of American Hospitals, told a Capitol Hill newsletter ...Industr y lobbyists say they are not worried [about a public option.] 'We trust the White House,' Mr. Kahn said." http://www .huffingto npost.com/ miles-mogu lescu/whos -killing-t he-public- o_b_334372 .html”
