I have friends of middle eastern descent. Most have flown without being questioned, and of those that have none have been arrested or beaten up.

But my African American friends, in Los Angeles, Georgia, New York, Texas, etc. have for years and Iquite frankly I don't remember hearing so much liberal outrage about it either.

I got pulled regularly and "profiled altho I'm a white female; I think it had something to do with my habit of buying one way tickets (which I understand is not an option with international flights) You know what? I got over it. An extra couple of minutes, big deal.

In Paris they tore apart my suitcase and took me to a back room because I was bringing it back for a friend pre 9/11. Europe has been dealing with terrorists for a while now.

This is not left or right. This is common sense.”

“Good comments from both of you. But I'd like to ask 4 Real; at what point does it become necessary to do what the Israeli's are doing? How many have to die to keep others from feeling offended and subhuman? Is it just that we have so populated this planet, the feud is starting?

It may be our only alternative to increase security to Israeli levels where necessary. This is not driven by hatred, but by fear and a need for self preservation. When the bombs stop in planes, trains and nightclubs across the world and Al Qaeda stops its crusade, then we can relax, but I'm afraid we're going in the opposite direction.
