For Obama the Road to Reelection Runs Through Kabul - Or So He Thinks

Commented Dec 04, 2009 at 17:24:12 in World

“His a a whimp to me now, who voted for him. It takes more courage to stand for peace, than it does to kill others. Too bad he doesn't know when to run.

But hey, I can't wait until the Military, with its 50cents of every dollar of our budget, breaks this Union.

For then things will be fixed.”

“I have an analogy that I use for this kind of situation.

A man who builds his muscles to look strong on the outside, wastes his time when he ignores the cancer within for he will surely die, and all the muscles in the world will avail him little.”

Have you even checked how much electricity is requried to recharge an electric car?

Sony Claifornia has brownouts on hot days. Now you are going to plug in 1 million cars?

I did notice that you only mentioned wind and sunshine poser. How are we going to replace petroleom, coal and nuclear powerplants”

“America, Israel and the rest of the Western world are poles apart when it comes to peace, all they want is they cannot accept other cultures, they want others to follow their immorality and their naked culture. So when you want to impose your culture and Secularism on others especially Muslims there will be violence and destruction where peace has no place. This has been going for the last 1500 years and it will never end. Invade, regime change and then install a corrupt puppet regime and blame it on the people who defend their countries as violent extremists, terrorist, fanatics and so forth. China is an example when it comes to Hong Kong and Taiwan. They did not want to invade Taiwan but let them live but never allowed it to declare independence. China's success also depended on their patience and hard work. Leaders of the Western world have so much to learn from China. What the Western world has is noting but corrupt Democracy, Secularism, and greedy Capitalism.”

“Jerry if you are a Lawyer, as I know you are. Bring Court cases against the greedy. I want that big party of Isaiah 25 where fine food and drinks will party for about a month, or as long as it takes to fix things.

Even if it takes throwing the kings in jail so we can use the profits for those who need them, as Isaiah 23:17-18 and 24: 21-24 talks about.

Bring them to Court Jerry Brown. You first name is not Charlie..”

And don't forget the Worker Ownership of the Mondragon Cooperative, so Workers can earn an Honest 21st Century Wage so they can take care of Themselves, like the Republicans always talk about.

I love the idea of having Capital at the Service of Labor, not the Labor at the service of Capital, for only Labor can talk, which is contrary to popular opinion...”

“Don't confuse what Russia and China gave a bad name to with help from the corps here in this Union, with what true Socialism is. The beat example is the Mondragon Cooperative in the Basque Rgion of Northern Spain. It might be the 7th largest Comapny in Spain right now and the Workers own the Bank.

I don't see a class Society ever happening here like the English Socialist party talks about. There will always be Sport Players, Movie Stars, writers etc etc here.

But lets get to the core of what Socialism is. The First Saints had all things in common. Engels wrote about: fro each according to his ability to each according to his needs.

I love the idea of Capital being at the Service of Labor. So many people today still think money talks when really on Labor can. So if you like what we have now; Labor at the service of Capital, you really should check out the principals of things.”

"Don't Get Sick": The Truth About GOP Health Plans?

Commented Oct 06, 2009 at 17:38:01 in Politics

“We might not have as big a problem if Unions had grown in membership since the 80s instead of being broken in the name of smaller Govt. Unions are the smaller Govt. which can solve things better than D.C. if Unions can get a living wage so people can take care of themselves as the right seems to say in their rhetoric.”

mhazard replied on Oct 06, 2009 at 18:53:36

“Thank you for this comment. The unions are ineffectual because they were broken during the Reagan administration with the air traffic controllers strike and the fear of people who need to have a job.

The unions are only as strong as the members. My son is a union member and he only goes to meetings to pay his dues. He never stays to see what is going on in within the union. I have told him that he needs to be more involved but it doesn't seem to mean anything.

People need to realize that the great prosperity that this country experienced during the 50s and 60s was only because of the efforts of unions. I admit that there is corruption within the unions, but once again I blame that on the apathy of the members. They need to get involved and know whats going on and correct it.
When a union is on strike, don't cross the picket line, no matter how much you need to shop at a particular store.”

Hard Labor

Commented Sep 07, 2009 at 14:26:57 in Business

“Why can't we cut rent in half for people who get laid off? Who would really be hurt? But then I would go as far as to cut the work week to 32 hours. Then of course cut rents and mortgages by 25% which would really give everyone a 5% raise.”

Jmz4gtu replied on Sep 07, 2009 at 15:14:55

“"Why can't we cut rent in half for people who get laid off?"
-Where's the money for that going to come from? Cutting the work week to 32 hours? That would generally just limit productivity. Those three proposals of yours are essentially calling for a massive intrusion of the government into just about every aspect of life. We're having a hard time getting the American public to let the government expand their insurance program, so lets focus on that first.”

ron46032 replied on Sep 07, 2009 at 14:50:38

“Are you really that naive? The only people who will be hurt are the one's who own the property. They typically have a mortgage on these properties. Do you want them to be foreclosed upon?

Then of course all of those cuts in mortgages affect all of the investors who invested in those mortgages. Talk about throwing Grandma and Grandpa under the train. Well the Left really doesn't care if Grandma and Grandpa have to eat dog food because all of their investments were cut by 25%.”

They watered down the Energy Bill like they are going to do to Healthcare.
