“Actually, the therapist I saw for my PTSD, before my insurance company cut me off, used this a few times. It did help a little bit for those little things I like to refer to as waking nightmares. They're not quite as extreme now. I'm not sure why it's not used more.”

“Yes! I am a childfree woman, 45, and thinking the same things. I like the idea of an elder commune, or something to that effect. I would like to have LTC also, but who knows what our health care system is going to to look like in 20-30 yrs. The plan my mom has is now not available, and it's a wonderful plan, for us, not the ins. co!”

Caregiver Crunch: How To Find Affordable Care

“I helped my mother get a long term care policy years ago. She is now 87 and in a nice nursing home. Best decision we ever made. We paid premiums up until she started using the policy, now it covers all but maybe two months worth of her care. She has a mental illness so I shudder to think what kind of place she would be in w/out the LTC. She is very content now, which is the best part!”

“Thank you 67bug,
I have found that the media has tended to focus quiet a lot on the people who have not had LTC insurance coverage - and I can surely understand that there are some heart wrenching stories to be covered in that all-too-often situation. However, now there are over 8,000,000 people who have purchased LTC insurance - and so your family, and mine, are getting a quality of care and protection that provides a far higher degree of comfort.
Thank you for your comments.
Ken”
