Fact Is.. Anderson Cooper Thanks God He's Gay

“The only disappointing part of Anderson Cooper's coming out email was the reference to god. Always disappointing to find out that someone seemingly respectable decides to switch off the logic switch in his brain and let religion in.”

“The email was to Andrew Sullivan - Anderson knows his audience.”

The Tipping Point: A Jewish Mother Questions Circumcision

Commented Jul 8, 2012 at 20:58:18 in Religion

“It's sad that out of all the bad reasons you settled on, it seems you really picked the worst... your own superstitions. You probably were really trying hard to justify your decision to circumcise your son for your own piece of mind. When you couldn't find any logical reason to have him circumcised, you abandoned logic and chose religion. By the way, the son-looks-like-daddy argument is equally ridiculous.”

Keep the Government Away From My Junk (Yes, That Kind)

“A normal adult man would never let someone take a scalpel to his penis. If newborn boys could talk, they'd tell their parents to leave their junk alone too.

Of course many other decisions made by parents have a much greater impact on a boy's life than whether or not they cut off his foreskin. No question. That doesn't mean that we as a society shouldn't protect children from harmful parental choices where possible. In most cases, it's nearly impossible to ensure a given child's wellbeing without intruding egregiously on a parent's right to privacy. Circumcision is different. We, as a society, can and should put legal protections in place to ensure that parents don't subject their sons to unnecessary, irreversible cosmetic surgery.”
