Bipartisanship Fetishism vs. What's Best for America: Obama Needs to Choose
Commented Feb 10, 2009 at 13:49:18 in Politics
“Republicans are obsolete.. ..
They should be focused on making a new party.
Standing for "smaller government" is an obsolete way of thinking. As is standing for the rich (when most of the population is not rich they will not get the vote). Finally, the greedy rich white big shots vs. the common everyday working- class hero is not winning any votes either.”

“As long as Alex is willing to pay for it out of his pocket and not mine, he can have his big government.

“Boener is still stressing the issue of having a "smaller gov't" when the government can never be "small" unless you consider 1.4 trillion / year small....
A two party system is needed to keep some checks, but in this case one party's logic is completely off.”

“What's really needed is more than two parties. A binary system doesn't give any real choice, it's either one or the other.”
Powell Stands Against Smears

“I am not a fan of Powell. Granted his endorsement looks good to defeat the "lack of experience with foreign policy" argument.
However, as Secretary of State, Powell's foreign policy consisted of the WMD scare.
Further, Powell timed his endorsement just exactly at the time that Oliver Stones film came out, which tries to make a not guilty plea for Powell's endorsement of the WMD hoax.
So, we see that Powell's endorsment is nothing mor than a political manuvure for himself.
Obama was better off without the former general. Powell should retire and go back to the country club with his Kronies.”
