“The reaction of the UVA community as compared to some of the other big universities that have had similar situations shows how student and faculty in Charlottesville not only feel personally invested in their university, but also feel that they have the power to make effect change. Grass roots democracy at work.”

“Not only were students and faculty personally invested so were residents of Charlottesville as well...such as myself and many, many of them who were there yesterday on the lawn hoping for her reinstatement. UVA is an important part of our town and everyone either works there or knows someone who works there or has graduated from there. I live right down the street from UVA myself.
UVA is special to all of us here in Virginia. It's the jewel in the crown of our great state university system. All of those who took part in this debacle underestimated it's importance on a wide scale. They may be smart with money but they acted very stupid.”
“True, Full House was not a realistic picture of life for its viewers, but neither is the dark world of Mad Men. People watch TV for many reasons, primarily for entertainment and they are able to distinguish fiction from reality. I'm glad that a smart girl like you finally understood the difference.”
