“Very good point, but still - this is so weird. I don't think people chose to be gay - they either are or they aren't. This guy chose to marry a Latina - he chose to have her parents stay with him, they had two girls together and, so far as I know, are still together. This is incredible - at least to me. I never knew he had a Latina wife. This guy, IMO, is insane.”

“That has become the mantra - everything pre 2010 is old news: the Wasilla days, the failed governorship, the failed campaign for VP. Those are the old Sarah. The book has put those stories to bed. Time to move on. She has learned and now is so much more shiny.”

“You are correct, however, she is also not prepared. She does not care about any issues, so she does not bother to prepare on any of them.
You underestimate her, and the capacity of Americans to support her. Her candidacy is all about personality. While she does not care about issues, her supporters don't either; all they want is a celebrity to whom they can attach their aspirations. She talks like them so they think she must be like them. These people don't care about issues and she will connect with them because of her megawatt personality. That could be enough to make her viable.
Remember, these people voted for W twice, despite his failure to connect with their issues. The republicans connected with Christians for several election cycles now, despite rejecting every Christian value but for abortion and gay bashing. I can see you are a thinking man, but your fellow citizens by and large are not.”

Beck appears to be getting serious about his program to start a third party. Hopefully this third party takes out the remaining sane republicans leaving them only on the far right.”

“Pay attention to what Glenn Beck is doing.
Over the past week he has taken his game up a notch. He is now pretty openly talking about organizing a third political party, using the same populist hokum that Palin spews. He is going on tour and even doing live shows broadcast to movie theatres. His people are fanatical about him and Sarah. I am hoping that people can see through them, but charismatic leaders have risen to power around the world many times - often with disastrous consequences.
I suggest we do not underestimate the ability of people to make foolish decisions.”

“Exactly, in Italy we had Mussolini who was pupulist and 'of the people' but in reality worked for an elite; industrialists, the aristocracy and the church. Now we have that clown Berlusconi who's using the same techniques. Palin and Bush both have that pupulist appeal in the U.S, 'people like us' someone you can have a beer with etc but in reality they're agents of Big Oil and Corporate elite.
Still, forming a third party may hopefully just split and weaken the Republican Party.”

She wants the spotlight as long as she can get it and under all that hair spray and makeup, she knows that she doesn't stand a chance on the national stage. She will be embarrassed and humiliated. 2005: Cheney realizes the republicans are headed out of office, sets up secret task force of assassins reporting to him. Operation is funded for 20 years, Cheney is in charge until replaced by the president - and continues indefinitely unless the new president makes a change. It is all very hush hush, only Cheney and Rummy know the details. Bush signs off oblivious to the meaning, as usual.
And then they never tell Obama. What they continue to do - assassinate, take over oil producing countries, is completely legal and can only be stopped by the President - but the president does not know. But Cheney slips - the young log cabin republican aide his daughter convinces him to hire figures out the plan, but then must go on the run when Cheney realizes the man has discovered his evil intent. Running through the gay bars of Washington, can the man find his way to Barney Frank before Blackwater waterboards the truth from him? In the shocking final chapter, we learn that.......”
