No Difference Between President Obama and Candidate Obama

Commented Nov 03, 2009 at 20:20:44 in Politics

“Earlier today I asked the following: Name one thing the President has done for students?? ONE!!!!!

I am thankful for the many responses I got, even the ones who could see the intent of my question.

I asked the question to show how laid the White House and the DNC has gotten. They are not on their communications game, except in the words of Valerie Jarrett, to speak truth to power (power being FOX News).

If the White House and the DNC cannot regularly communicate the achievements of the Obama Administration, guess what the narrative coming out of the GOP will be?

They will put their version out there and leave to the White House to react. We can do better and we must do better. That is why there is no enthusiasm on the ground in New Jersey and Virginia.”

1- Soon be able to stay under your parent's health care coverage until you reach 27, it that a bad deal?
2- Get student loans without going through the middle man and save money.
3- Grants available for students who want to serve (The Edward Kennedy Service Act, 2009).
4- Expanded resources made available to thousands of Community Colleges.
5- Maybe this government actions helped your parents kept their jobs/house/unemployment benefits/healthcare this year.

Now what have you done lately for yourself?”

“Have you ever been selected for a jury panel and observed the process of jury selection? If so, then you should know that both sides will be looking for the most uninformed, malleable people availabe in the jury pool. They will not be looking for Raykof types and will avoid any person who appears to have "maverick" tendencies or a sense of idealism.

I am sure that BOA will hire a good jury selection "service" that will be paid for by BOA shareholders, as will all the legal costs of the trial. Before this is over, the shareholders may be cursing Raykof as this entire scenario will now probably cost them several times the $33 million needed for the fine.”

But in your area...your remark remind me of a "discussion" once entered into at a Thanksgiving dinner held by a Lieutenant for us EM (all the married officers had to take 4-5 EM to their homes for this dinner). The police are trained to treat blacks as criminals from day one. I am a law abiding citizen and if I am going to the grocery store and they have a police officer on guard I will not enter that store. That is why I avoid large public events I seldom drive at nights and I stay away from the highways.

In 2002 I was pulled over in Georgia and asked if I had stopped at a gas station down the road. I replied no he then proceed to inform me that I was speeding which I was not. There were people flying past me on the highway and I was the one pulled over for speeding.

Police are obnoxious jerks who throw there weight around to intimidate people, regardless if you are a law abiding citizen or criminal. It seems as if the police are trained to treat everyone as criminal until they can prove otherwise.

Some people don't like that and I am one. I suspect Prof Gates is too. So for my safety I try my very best to stay as far from the peace officers as possible.”
