“Really? You started with an opinion and finished with a quote from the Bible. I fail to see any fact presented.”

“I fail to see what you are looking for.I showed an example where Christian values were mirrored in our constitution. That western society has been christian for over 1000 years is hardly an opinion, it is a fact. As is the fact that the people founding this nation were Christians. I don't find that very controversial.Where would you say your moral values and views originate from?”
“I didn't realize that we weren't focused on suicide prevention as a whole. The percentage of people that choose jumping off of a bridge is smaller than those who choose to shoot themselves, despite that we still put up signs on bridges about suicide hotlines. Why wouldn't we do essentially the same thing at gun stores?”
“I would like to verify where you got this info from. I have found no evidence of this.”

“Most of western society is based on Christian principles that are pervasive in our society whether we are actively religious or not. The founding fathers were all Christians.
All men are created equal:"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Gal. 3:28)”

“The bottom line is mistakes were made on both parts. However only one mans mistakes resulted in the death of a kid. Why does it sound like you are holding the UNARMED young man accountable for retaliating after first being pursued by an adult man. The law states that GZ had the right to protect himself from this unarmed man, but they way you worded your comment makes it sound like you don't feel like TM had the right to protect himself first. If a man starts following me, I can assure you that I will feel threatened. If feel it is safe to assume that young man did as well (he probably would not have attacked otherwise).”

“He stalks a kid, the kid retaliates, he gets some cuts and bruises and the kid gets dead.
Really?!?! We are supposed to feel sorry for GZ?? Wow...”

“Congratulations Amylsabella. You're the first commenter to get an important part of the story correct. You said "the kid retaliates" and that is correct. Why is that so hard for others to acknowledge? I don't think anyone should feel sorry for GZ. But can we at least get some basic facts straight before getting all "up in arms"?
1. GZ followed TM. Fact. Heavily reported.
2. Police asked him not to. Fact. Heavily reported.
3. GZ complied and stopped following TM. Fact. Hardly reported but on the full tape.
4. GZ returned to his car. Fact. Hardly reported but on the full tape.
5. A fight took place, GZ ended up with injuries to his face and head, TM died from a gunshot wound. Fact.
How did TM end up back where GZ was? Who was really pursuing who at that point? Who started the fight? Those are the important questions of the case...”
“perhaps their behavior would have less effect on those of us seeing and hearing it via the media, but i don't think their demonstrations would have a lesser effect on the families they are picketting. at least with media coverage maybe enough people will be pissed off by this nonsense that we can finally figure out a way to stop it (legally and peacefully).”
