“India maybe well be shocked, but the country stands out as being one of the most dangerous country's in the world in which to be a female. Talk and outrage is cheap, actions are harder, India needs a wholesale change of culture, stop treating women as chattel and something special and start treating them as equals.”

“Quite, because the personal unverified, unchecked opinion of just one person obviously trumps any and all research.
Last summer was cold in Heahtfield, therefore global warming is just rubbish, I dont care how much research the "lame media" points to as evidence......”

“This study is from a source that is known to be dishonest about anything that has to do with smoking or vaping and no comparison is given to cigarettes or cigars. No info is given on what products they used. These studies often use this nasty tobacco that is basically just ground up cigars, when that is not what anyone in the US smokes out of a hookah. They also give metrics that have no meaning without further study or comparison. What level of nicotine in urine is dangerous, as I understand it nicotine isn't the dangerous part of tobacco, just he addictive part. What "toxins" did they test for and how do these levels compare to the use of other types of tobacco use?”
“God has got very little to do with this, its the most secular countries in the world that are leading the fight for equality, the more religious a country is the less progress you see.”

“You are very right. God is actually the problem here - or should I say religious fundamentalist's idea of what they think they believe god's will is based on some ancient book written over 3,000 years ago by goat herders living in tents.
If not for religion's naive and bigoted view on women and homosexuals this wouldn't have been such a hostile issue for all these centuries...It's religion that is keeping this hate and intolerance alive still today.
If you call yourself a Christian and you don't even understand Jesus' message of love then so much for any claims of "knowing god's will" then!”
“It is a continuing mystery to many observing America from afar, how a nation that has produced so many of the worlds greatest scientists, can have such a large proportion of its population so utterly ignorant of basic science.
This continued rise in ignorance cannot bode well for the future prosperity of the US.”
“Before this was possible I had creationist telling me, "see only god can create life", now those very same people bleat "you see only an intelligent entity can create life".
You god is running out of places to hide.”

“>>>Before this was possible I had creationist telling me, "see only god can create life", now those very same people bleat "you see only an intelligent entity can create life".>>>
Err, without the intelligent entity God there would be no intelligent man. And it's not like scientists "created life" without DNA already existing. They didn't exactly create the code, they expanded it.
>>>You god is running out of places to hide. >>>
I think He/It has been hiding in plain sight all along, waiting for man to slowly discover His/Its existence, from the largest mass to the tiniest particle. I think by the time scientists finally discover the elusive "formula for everything," they will have discovered the existence of an intelligent force.”
“Partly true, sure there would still be conflict, but remove the poison of religion and i belief we would see a substantial reduction in the number, and sheer barbarity of many conflicts.
Whether its Europe, India, Africa, the ME etc, etc, it is religion that drives the slaughter along, with each side in a conflict happy to slaughter in the name of the their particular god, everyone certain that their "one true" god will reward them for their work in his name.
Given man's increasing ability to kill continually larger numbers, combined with the poison of ever increasing sectarianism I truly fear for the future of humanity.”
“Things must be pretty desperate for women in India if they feel compelled to turn to Sharia law for justice.”

“No its natural. If you have disagreements with the law, then its easier to change the law than trying to overthrow it. They'll have an easier time convincing the muslim public they deserve equality if they can explain their case in terms of islamic teachings...”
“Mirza Tahir's, a man completely unqualified to talk about this subject, (why is it that creationist always put up people with zero authority to speak on such subjects ) All the extremely weak points he makes in his various publications, have been comprehensively demolished, by those whose work in the field. Why do you people listen to such obvious charlatans?”
“"science is based on faith", utter and complete rubbish, science is the very antithesis of faith, a worse comparison you could not have made.
Faith is believing something without any evidence and is the very definition of religion.”

“So show us your proof that the universe is rational , logical and comprehensable. And by the way Godel has already proven that it is incomplete. No proof, I guess your science is just another religion.”
“Not even sure that is true, after the brutal rape of the women in Delhi last year the local papers here did a load of opinion polls, and the one result that stood out for me was that the majority of women, (not just men) believe that a wife deserves to be beaten if she upsets her husband! They really have a very, very long way to go.”

“Sounds like you have not been reading you bible :-
Christians and the pic-n-mix bible, makes me laugh.......”

“True. He did come to fulfill the prophesies.
He also changed the rules, though.
Notice how Christians do not follow the OT dietary and Sabbath laws.
The biggest change, IMO, though was making it inclusive,
as opposed to the Jewish exclusiveness.
That allowed Christianity to grow, Judaism remained the religion of a small group.”

“Quite, ours seemed utterly terrified of alcohol, and being sued, they could never seem to understand that suing for absolutely anything and everything in the UK, (at that time), was neither popular or very easy.
Also prior to 2000 they had a security audit done on our building in surrey, and their recommendation was that all of the bushes surround the build showed be removed as they would, "provide cover for terrorists if they attacked the building". Quite bonkers the lot of them.
They bitterly lamented the UK governments attempts to improve social care and actively campaigned against any attempt to boast out of work benefits. They must be so happy with the current lot in Westminster.
Money, bombs, bibles and bullets. Its the American way....”
