“Yeah. That would definitely crush the hopes and spirit of the African American population in the U.S. You might even see increased African American migration to Canada and possibly Europe. But some people would LOVE that. They've been wanting us to go back to where they dragged us away from for a few centuries now.”

“Why does anyone who question the mainstream theory or looks into alternate theories get labeled a denialist? House of Numbers is getting attention and ruffling feathers because among all the questions presented in the documentary, some tacit truths were revealed. This weak paradigm is tumbling down and the rats and roaches are running for cover holding onto crumbs.
The main-streamers and poison pushers sound like those right wing lunatics calling any attempt to reform health care socialism or nazism. How does questioning a very suspect theory equal denialism equal to that of denying the holocaust? Like the right wing nutters, they are terrified to engage in an actual debate because they have very little to stand on, and that platform is getting weaker everyday.”

“Looking at an "alternative theory" does not make anyone a denialist. Insisting that an alternative theory which has been studied and proven wrong (e.g. that AIDS is some sort of "lifestyle disease") is the correct theory, and denying that a scientifically proven theory has even been studied (e.g. that HIV has never been properly isolated) is what makes a denialist.
The theory that HIV-1 and HIV-2 are the viruses responsible for AIDS, is not "questionable" or "highly suspect" at all. The vast majority of AIDS cases in the world are caused by HIV-1 M group viruses. HIV-1 O group, and HIV-2 A group viruses cause only an insignificant percentage of AIDS cases.
Claims that "oxidative stress" or malnutrition, or "the nitrite-huffing gay lifestyle" are the actual causes of AIDS, and are "alternative theories" is very misleading. In fact those alternative theories were all studied by epidemiologists, and proven to be wrong.”

The Destruction of the Black Middle Class
Commented Aug 05, 2009 at 05:57:21 in Politics
“Exactly. I substitute taught at a predominately black school several years ago. I once taught an 8th grade class, and the level of writing and reading comprehension was probably 4th or 5th grade at best. I would often ask the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up, and without fail, 9 out of 10 boys would say a rapper or a ball player. When I asked if they had a back up plan if that didn't work out, most of these 13 year-olds had never thought about anything else.
I am an African American, the first in my family to get a bachelor's degree and I am a year away from getting a master's degree, which is way beyond what my family ever thought any of us would do. We do not have enough visible blacks in the media who are scholars, journalists, scientists etc. We need to stop focusing on enterainment and focus on education. We are our own worst enemy.”

Stop Blaming California's Black Voters for Prop 8
Commented Nov 07, 2008 at 16:15:35 in Politics
“I am black and gay. I understand your frustration. The simple fact is that this is a religious issue. Upwards to 80% percent of African Americans consider themselves to be religious, whereas only 65% of whites say the same. Black people tend to be very religious and so of course they are going to oppose a prop that supports what they believe is a sin. Homophobia is rampant in the Black community. Sad and true. But to blame Obama for how 70% of black voters in California voted is unfortunate.
But who we should really be blaming is the state of California who allowed this prop to be put on the ballot in the first place. The state of California approved rescinding a right that it had already given. So while some Blacks in CA have some blame, you can't punish Obama for that.”

“I have come to except a few things about this election.
1. There may be some merit to the Bradley Effect, but I also believe that there are considerable amounts of voters who publicly say that they are sticking with McCain, but when they go into that booth they intend on voting for Obama because deep down they know McCain and Palin will be a bad choice. This may way neutralize any Bradley Effect.
2. McCain and Pail has definitely lost a large majority of the female vote with his "health" snafu. Women are a little more than half the population, outnumbering any other minority group. Most women's organization endorse Obama and detest Palin.
3. The Obama campaign has lawyers standing by in any place they perceive as being succeptible to voter suppression or ballot tampering. Please believe that Obama hasn't launched the most effective campaign in American history to lose it over stolen votes. This may mean another Supreme Court case, but they will fight till the end. Unlike Gore did in 2000.”

“No one is buying the "Obama the secret Muslim" ploy any more. Only morons like you. Second, the corporations that you hold so dear are using various loopholes and write-offs that for all intents and purposes reduce what they pay in taxes by a large margin. People with lots of money find really interesting ways of hiding it. I don't care how much you cut taxes for corporations, they are still going to cut costs to raise the bottom line. And they do that by globalization, the free market, free trade and other buzzwords that mean going overseas to take advantage of cheap labor in countries that have lax or nonexistent labor laws and/or environmental standards. Stop drinking the kool-aid. How do you think we are going to pay for two wars, the latest 700 Billion dollar corporate welfare check and the deficit we have?By keep taxes low and borrowing money from China? No thanks. use your brain dude.”
Why Some Smart Women Think Palin is a Good Choice

“She is a liar. How can you tell people you've been cleared of ethical wrong doing when she has.
She has been using state funds to pay for trips that her children are taking, uninvited and saying they are official business trips. She paid herself per diem for staying in her own house. Get real. This woman is bold-faced liar and abuses her power regularly. Not to mention the hypocrisy. How dare she say that Obama doesn't see America like the rest of "us". Number one, who is "us"? And number two, how does she think the AIP(Alaska Independence Party), a group which she supports sees America?”

“Exactly. I was really turned off by that. I expect that of McCain. But as a democrat I was a disappointed in Obama. I hate that these debates always end up being about the candidates and what they want or need to say. We also have to keep in mind that they are trying to win an election and their campaigns have narratives and bullet points they have to stick to. And these debates are just dots on a strategic map. Given that. I think Gwen Ifill did a great job given what the debates typically turn out to be like.”
