“In July of 2013, US Army-Europe conducted training exercises with 1,300 troops from 17 nations in Yavoriv, Ukraine.
Exercise Rapid Trident was "designed to enhance interoperability between forces and promote regional stability and security," according to Sgt. Cole, U.S. Army Europe Public Affairs.
U.S. Army Europe claims a unique position of advancing American strategic interests across Eurasia and having the capacity to "prevent conflict, shape the environment and, if necessary, win decisively."
According to exercise Co-Director U.S. Army Col. Alfred Renzi:
"Over the last several months Ukraine has set the highest of standards, and supported by dedicated planners from our partner countries, has set the conditions for excellent training."
Along with a training exercise or two, Ukraine is also a recipient of US Foreign Operations Assistance.
“As most politicians, if their lips are moving, they're lying!
As for voting for this guy, you have failed to realize that when it comes to US foreign policy and its objectives it matters not which political party sits in the White House or has a majority in Congress those objectives prevail and take precedence over all other policies.
US foreign policy is America's bane - that which plagues America!”
“The last two presidential elections were little more than two power elite groups vying for control of Washington.
It's all about foreign policy - the global expansion of US multinational industries, corporations, and private and military contractors.
In short, that which has drained our domestic coffers, sent millions of Americans into poverty, made social mobility a 'thing' of the past in America, threatens to enslave millions worldwide, and make our planet uninhabitable all the sooner.”
“According to the indispensable resource on US foreign policy the Council on Foreign Affairs, the Patriot Act grants law enforcement bodies in the United States greater authority in countering terrorism domestically and abroad.
In short, the Patriot Act keeps those who are not included in the power elite groups from vying for the remaining Earth's resources and cheap labor forces and from keeping a populace from rising against its government.”
“So apparent research escapes you, otherwise, you would not have spouted your "nonsense": "Our economic system is in no imminent danger freom [your misspelling, not mine] use of fossil fuels or waste products. Technology will solve both of those problems...".
Your assumption as to the level of education I have attained or in what field says much about how you not only view those around you and the world but also how you process information or not or just make it up as you go along to reinforce your own lack of knowledge.”
“If you had been doing your homework, you wouldn't now just be sitting on the fence.
You'd already be aware of the 600 corporate advisors who have been given access to the text of the TPP agreement while at the same time, the public continues to be left in the dark in what has become the ultra-secretive negotiation process.
You'd also be aware that labor, environmental, family farm, indigenous and other social justice groups on 4 continents oppose the TPP and for good reasons. I'll let you research the many whys.
May I also add, the more information the public is given on any issue, the more understanding is gained, even on something as 'complicated' as the concepts of global economics.”
“Out of concern for the safety of contractors from club-wielding anti-drone protesters, US officials halted the shipments of tons of US and NATO military hardware being trucked out of Afghanistan.
Before landing in Pakistan, Hegal spent 2 days in Afghanistan "urging" Pres. Karzai to sign the long-delayed security agreement allowing NATO-led forces to stay beyond 2014.
Sec. of Defense Chuck Hagel's meeting with the PM and the new army chief Gen. Sharif is part of the US's effort to "deepen" the defense partnership between the countries and for the US to confirm its continued military assistance into the future (since July 2012, the US has given close to $1.2 billion in military aid to Pakistan for its continued support on the US's "war on terror").
Last week, Hagel was in Bahrain reassuring Gulf Arab allies that the US would keep its hefty military presence in the region despite an interim nuclear deal with Iran.”
“Just how up-and-up can the TPP negotiations be if Pres. Obama and his administration deem the information to be so classified even members of Congress are banned from discussing them with the press or the public?
This in no way resembles the workings of a democracy”

“It definitely resembles diplomatic negotiations, though. The general public doesn't even understand the simplest of concepts in global economics. To put out partial details of an ongoing negotiation, where sides take stances they might not fully agree with or expect to work, is just going to inflame the ignorant masses.
And before anyone says it, I am neither defending or attacking this particular thing, because I haven't read it and don't know the whole story. I'll let the thousands of other people have the kneejerk reactions which will conveniently fall within their own particular bias.”
“What many have yet to realize is that at some point in time - one rapidly approaching - our economic system, fed by fossil fuels and other resources at one end and expelling waste at rates which our planet is unable to absorb, is unsustainable.”

“Very true. Out economic system will be forced to switch to local production, which may not be bad thing. Do I really really a mango flown in from the Caribbean available to me in the middle of winter? Costs 6X the amount of energy to get it to me, than it provides in calories.”

“What many have yet to realize is that your fearmongering is nonsense. Our economic system is in no imminent danger freom use of fossil fuels or waste products. Technology will solve both of those problems as they do become near.
You should get some other education than just that liberal arts if you expect to be taken seriously..”
“The author of the Patriot Act claims the law was "designed to protect liberties" and in no way authorizes NSA surveillance!
Seems Sensenbrenner has conveniently forgotten Section 215 and its surveillance, wherein all the government has to do is mention foreign spies or terrorists, only a matter of language, to gain a judicial okay.
“Considering how well US government-backed corporate globalization has worked out for Americans in the way of job creation and living wages, not to mention burgeoning trade deficits - NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement). FTAA (Free Trade Area of the Americas), and CAFTA (Central American Free Trade Agreement), how will the Obama administration's Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement, now well underway, literally create 'millions' of jobs in the US, according to Sec. of State Kerry?”
Dad2three on Dec 6, 2013 at 10:32:21
“You can thank the GOP, who will support the 'free trade' deals. Dems have voted against them 60%, means only 40% of Dems are CONservatives!”
“How many of those 'jobs' fell into the category of part-time or temporary for the Christmas season?”
dcjerry on Dec 6, 2013 at 09:13:52
“Just yesterday our local Lowes announced that all part time positions were being cutback to two days for at least 45 days. No one realizes that there are so many part time jobs now days so when these figures appear optimistic on one level they are really very misleading on the other. It's all corporate profits over the worker. That's the bottom line...”
