Senate Health Care Bill Offers Less Immediate Help Than House Version

Senate Health Care Bill Offers Less Immediate Help Than House Version

Commented Nov 20, 2009 at 06:18:08 in Politics

“I have been a life long Democrat and I have always voted Democrat across tha Board.

In 2006 I began to pause when Pelosi and Reid took impeachment "..off the table.."
In 2008 I was reeled in by the "Change You can believe in " machine.
In 2009 I was rudely awakened by the Appointments of Sumner and Geithner Hope was a little shaken then. Between March and August when the Republican vast Minority was allowed to fill the Media with unanswered attacks which impacted the People, Hope was down on its knees for the 8 count.
When during the Summer the lunatic firnge were permitted to drown logic with ratbait , Hope suffered four 8 counts in that round.
After Labour day, stillgroggy from the blows delivered from March through August, Hope lay against the ropes being pummelled from the Right and the so called Left!

Healthcare Reform was being stiffly uppercutted by Democats for Change, including the President .
All it took to put Hope down for the full count, after the batterring received for the past 12 Rounds, (months), the assertions of Pelosi and Reid, obviously acting in concert with the White House. No reconcilliation. They leave the Senate 60 vote Rule in place, as undemocratic and unconstitutional as it is. They now remove reconcilliation "..off the table."

Henceforth I vote Republican across the Board. At least they do what they say they will and what their supporters want, however distasteful that might be.”

“I have made the same sorry observations but to switch to the Republicans (across the board) is just putting a fire out with gasoline.
Better to put your foot on the necks of your representatives in your area who work for you and hold them accountable.
The other thing to do is become very pro=active in interest groups that work on the issues that concern you the most.”

Patriot86 replied on Nov 20, 2009 at 09:30:15

“sure, you would have voted GOP anyway...no one would ever vote for GOP who is progressive...bad as the Dems are at times, they are much better then any Teabagging conservative who will allow banksters and insurance companies to destroy the middle class...quit pretending to be what you clearly are not...progressive...put on your teabag hat and have at it with your Joe the Plumber type buddies. I was GOP for years, years so don't try the BS.”

“I am almost there with you. I have voted Democratic since 1978. But right now I am so p!ssed at the lack of Democratic leadership, I am about ready to jump ship. We elected a Democratic President and gave Democrats majorities in both houses, yet all I hear from them is whining and all I see is an Administration bending over backwards to appease those who voted against Obama. What a disgusting and weak display.”

UpstateNY replied on Nov 20, 2009 at 08:43:57

“You shouldn't vote for anything 'across the board'!

And if you think the Republicans are the answer - you're asking very strange questions.”

Periwinkle replied on Nov 20, 2009 at 07:31:08

“Vote Republican across the board? Surely you jest. If anything is to be done, it is a bona fide progressive third party.”

It's as much your fault, as anyone, for electing these people in and and then sitting idly by and watching them do what they do... America and every other country's problems are the problems of their citizens, and corruption and bad politics is always a reflection of the character of the citizenry.”

Schumer: Progressive Ads "Hurting Us" On Public Option

Commented Oct 01, 2009 at 06:51:54 in Politics

“First of all, I do not understand Baucus' logic; if the Option had the votes he would vote for it. What is the basis upon which one votes for a particular bit of legislation? That that legislation 'has the votes'?, or, that that legislation is good for the People? If the latter then Max should vote for it as a matter of princi[pal, if of course he agrees with it. 'Having the votes" cannot be the basis of supporting anything.

Schumer and Rham are two weasels parading as Democrats. They are enablers who will bring down the Democratic Party for their own goals. Sadly, Obama follows them like a jellyfish.

2012 will bring "Change" we can believe in.”

“So the House passing three reform bills and the HELP senate committee passing the Kennedy bill does not count...its all the Baucus bill that counts? right? It does not matter that the Finance committee bill is going through the ammendments now..and then voted on...then what ever comes out of the vote will be reconciled with what ever comes from the House...oh and two amendments creating a Public Option in the Baucus bill will be debated Tuesday. Now if you want to do something besides gripe, call the republicans on the Finance Committee and let them know what you want. Get at least one of them in the final bill that comes out of the Finance Committee.

Then work on your Senators and Reps when it comes out and the reconciled bill is brought to the floor.”

Mr. & Mrs. Brown are neither "hacks" nor "svengalis" as you so insensitively proclaim. Are you aware of the depth of work which they put into the writing of a book? The research and fact checking etc.? Are you aware of the kind and generous things they do on a daily basis, all the while insisting on anonymity, for the needy in this coubtry? Have you ever spoken to either of them? Why are you so bitter towards people you do not know? What is the factual basis for your remarks?

If you do not know someone, you should NOT make such personal comments about them.

You are wrong. Very wrong. You ought to consider an apology to the Browns.”
