6 Reasons To Never Go On A Cruise Vacation

“Biggest reason to not take a cruise? Environmental! Between the massive amounts of fuel they use (and leak into the ocean), the problems they cause for marine wildlife and their garbage disposal methods (ie dumping everything into the water) cruise ships are awful for the environment.”

“I don't think the person who wrote the headline here quite understands what is going on. (It currently says "West Ham Will Be 2012 London Games Olympic Stadium.") They didn't pick the West Ham stadium, West Ham was picked to take over the stadium after the games.”

'The Whole Truth' Canceled: ABC Axes Maura Tierney Series

“This show was absolutely terrible. If they had any lawyers on the writing staff, the rest of the writers must have ignored them completely because the illustration of a criminal prosecution in this show was beyond laughable ... it was absurd, formulaic, poorly researched and completely without merit. Let's skip the half-hearted, misused legal jargon and get Ms. Tierney back together with Dave Foley ... now there is a concept I could get behind.”
Lady Gaga To Rally In Maine To Pressure Senators Snowe, Collins On 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal'

Lady Gaga To Rally In Maine To Pressure Senators Snowe, Collins On 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal'

Commented Sep 20, 2010 at 12:27:29 in Politics

“Please don't make Lady Gaga out to be some politically significant figure in this or any controversy. When she pops in for the last 6 months of what has been a 10+ year fight it minimizes the work of people who have tirelessly fought for this issue. While some toiled to allow homosexuals to serve openly Lady Gaga worked to further her own career by acting and dressing outlandishly. By making her out as an important voice on this issue, you cheapen the issue as a whole. This should not be an opportunity for a publicity stunt, this should be the culmination of years of work to make the US just slightly more equal. Get a different picture and headline, and take a different vantage point from which to write your article, please. There are certainly people more deserving of a top of the page headline at this juncture than this fool.”

“I really have to take issue with this. My take is that Stefani feels a great debt of gratitude for her career to the gay community. I believe she is earnest in this gratitude and offers to use the fame ignited by this community to bring what she believes is her power to generate awareness. And indeed, there are real and deserving troopers (no pun intended) in this battle, but none of them to the person could generate the type of press coverage that she can. Now, how about backing off telling people what to do, back off from assuming that her motivations are selfish -- for which you really have no clue -- and allow this to play out. She is certainly not hurting the cause amongst those that are unsure. The bigots will be bigots no matter who tries to speak out. And as for merit, there will always be the unspoken hero. Get over it.”

“While I agree that she shouldn't be the "poster boy" for the movement I would like to point out that ten years ago she was thirteen or fourteen at most. So I'm not sure she really had the opportunity to get in on the ground floor of this one. And this fight has been going on since the days of Sgt. Perry Watkins in the 70's when she would have been in the double digit minuses. The Lady has been, and continues to be, supportive of the gay community and willing to use her celebrity to call attention to our issues.
It's not THE issue I wish gays were focusing but it is.”

TexasGiant on Sep 20, 2010 at 12:36:59

“Well said.

But I this is more the result of a fawning journalist than anything she asked for.”

“"By making her out as an important voice on this issue, you cheapen the issue as a whole. This should not be an opportunity for a publicity stunt"........the same could be said of most politicians! I say, the more megaphones the better.”

RBLRDR on Sep 20, 2010 at 12:33:21

“She has been championing gay rights from the start of her career. This is nothing new for her. She is also a member of the LGBT community.”

SteveDenver on Sep 20, 2010 at 12:31:22

“Whether someone has been in the fight for 10 years or 10 minutes, I appreciate their support. She has a big platform with people I would never consider political, and I can only hope that eventually -- OR immediately -- some of them will develop a public conscience.

Please don't be the big bad judge.”
