“I would agree it's not ENTIRELY CIA -- and maybe not CIA at all but some covert US government-connected bunch. Yes, as in THIS case, they simply exploit the psychological vulnerability of people like this kid. Or, in popular terms, they put them up to it, possibly to the extent of creating a bogus al _Qaeda cell or some such. No way to prove all this, of course, except that it makes perfect sense....”

“my sense of it is truly, that we are in the middle of a gigantic corporate hostile takeover struggle. the lines are blurred because heck, one corporation looks much like any other. nationalism, religion and any other ideology only applies in that it can be exploited, manipulated, used.

we're -meaning the u.s. ruling class - is not controlling it all as much as saudi arabia is. im-albeitveryparanoid-o.”

“Much thanks. Reciprocated. One more and I break 200! Once I read about the guy in the suit escorting the perpetrator on board without a passpost, I started thinking hmmmmmm.... (I think the suit was what did it.)”

“Why would they want to do that? It was a total botch....

Which brings up the following interesting point.

This effort -- like that of the "shoe _bomber" a few years ago -- seems fairly typical of recent efforts. I draw a couple of conclusions from this.

1) Either they are somehow "orchestrated" by Western security/intelligence agencies to give their "security theater" plausibility or al _Qaeda is incredibly incompetent as a _terrorist organization.

2) If the second part of 1) is true, then _Nine_Eleven was ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE beyond anything they've managed to "accomplish" before or since. If this is the case, shouldn't it make us at least A LITTLE SUSPICIOUS that there were other factors involved?....”

“Al-Qaeda has gotten weaker enlight of the wars in Pakistan and in Afghanistan. There too busy running for their lives. The net is pretty tight ,however cracks do occur so in this situation this was a case of a crack in our net.

Many conspiracy theorists out there. I don't believe them. I have seen evidence all are hogwash or It doesn't make sense.”

“Answers:
1) Yes. This guy was easily let on the airplane. I can't get on with gel!

2) If you understood who really did 9.1.1., then what happened on the plane is no surprise, but expected.

The government needs to have fear in our citizens to use our tax money for wars. These moneys make military contractors, like Cheney, big time $$$.

Word on the streets is that Cheney is already up 1.5 billion through Halliburton war contracts.

Just follow the money.”

“How else do you discourage would-be terrorists from trying to sneak contraband through the airport without actually TRYING (and failing) to do so?
You make the airport security atmosphere as theatrically secure as possible, seems perfectly reasonable seeing as how they couldn't have changed EVERYTHING immediately, how are we going to discourage a follow-up before new technology gets in place?
We make a show of how concerned we are about air travel, that's about all we can do.”
