“I agree, very well stated, but using Australia (in my mind) isn't the best example. Their minimum wage is much higher because their products overall are much higher. Americans would be shocked to discover how much a burger and fries cost in Australia, and they are higher still in New Zealand. New Zealanders actually visit Australia to save money. Lol.”

“Australia is the biggest producer of food worldwide and exports even into the US.The only difference in pricing is in real estate but Australians earn more so it gets evened out. Gas is more expensive but urban transport is better structured and cheaper. You can buy an all day rail, bus, and ferry pass in Sydney for $10 or $1 if you're a pensioner, healthcare is universal but you can top up cover privately and it's world class and far cheaper than the US. Higher Education loan rates are lower and you don't have to start paying the loans until your salary is 4 times greater than the annual rate plus interest. You get 4 weeks paid leave, maternity and paternity leave, a rent subsidy if you're at the bottom of the economic scale and unemployment is very low.”

“Looks like both of you are naive. Any idea why the costs in Australia are so high? It's called the minimum wage and labor costs! I can assure you, it isn't because they have to import the hamburger, buns or fries!”
“Sadly, with some in our culture so fascinated with and into zombies, I am sure there are some who would quite willingly take this drug.
Our society is really starting to spiral out of control.”
Emily Rang on Sep 27, 2013 at 02:07:05
“Umm... what does being fascinated by zombies have to do with this at all. Please don't think that because people are fascinated with zombies that they want to do drugs like this. It's kind of ridiculous. I love zombies but I would never think about doing something dumb like this...”
Jacqueline Quackenbush on Sep 27, 2013 at 00:48:28
“A different article explained that the appeal of the drug is that it has similar effects to heroin but at a much lower cost. Desperate addicts are probably willing to risk it.”

“I have been into zombies for years before it was cool, I don't think anyone is that stupid to try this to be a zombie.”

“Starting to? It's been on the hand basket to Hell for awhile now!”
“If your dog is nothing more than a "nasty ass" to you then not only do I feel sorry for it, but for you, too... I have never known anything more loving, more affectionate, and more forgiving than a dog.”
NunuDudu on Sep 13, 2013 at 13:01:10
“What do you know about my relationship with my dog? I can't stand people who get hyper-sensitive about non-issues and assume a million with a spec of information. My dirty little poop eating, rotten corpse rubbing, projectile defecating ball of sunshine is loved unconditionally, hugged endlessly, spoiled ridiculously (did your dog spend two weeks on the beach in St. Barths this year?) and makes waking up everyday 10 times more fun. But he is a nasty ass and I don't believe he has any business being around an infant.”
irish23 on Sep 13, 2013 at 11:19:20
“Exactly. So why does this person even have a dog if that is how she/he feels?”
“I'm sorry, my following comment will be crude, but I am surprised that the GOP hasn't installed a camera in President Obama's bathroom so they can moan and groan and complain about the way he wipes his ass!
Seriously, the only thing that will change anything is to VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE!”

“I'm amazed they haven't tried to scurry up the toilet trapway, and bite him!

“Actually I didn't mean to favor your comment. Zimmerman created this situation, even after being told to stand down. He was caught in several lies during the trial, the least of which saying he knew nothing about the "Stand your ground" law in Florida, which was debunked by his professor who said he aced his class on the subject.
I don't know what 'exactly' transpired, but I do know that if someone were following me and eventually accosted me, something everybody seems to agree on, I would fight for my life too. They want to make Trayvon guilty for fighting for his life.
One last thing, Zimmerman said Trayvon saw and took his gun, yet Trayvon's dna wasn't found on the gun, and by Zimmerman's admission upon arrest, the gun was holstered in the back of his pants which was covered up. How did Trayvon see and take the gun if he was on top of Zimmerman face to face??”
“Caught on tape and still he gets to proclaim his innocence and get a trial. Our judicial system is seriously screwed up. And over 12 felonies... what happened to three strikes and you are OUT -- or rather IN for the long haul?!”
“Caught on tape and yet he can still claim his innocence and get a trial. Our judicial system is screwed up beyond belief. And over 12 different felonies... what happened to three strikes and you're out?!”
“I admit it, I don't care for Paula Deen. Several months back I was up all night when my husband was experiencing some health issues. He was up and down all night so I turned the TV on and to the Food Network. It was a special, Paula Deen and her family (husband and sons) on vacation. Everyone had 'bit' parts except for Deen. Her husband said something to her in one scene, an innocent comment about wanting to see some attraction if my memory serves, and her response was to remind him who supports him. I've never liked ball busters.”

“You must hate women then. They all do that if they make any money.”
BlindChance on Jul 4, 2013 at 12:55:50
“"Ball busters" hmmm...
Just curious, had the roles been reversed there (he supports her, reminds her of it), what might you call her husband?”
“You've got to hand it to the Republicans... they are definitely creative. Too bad that creativity is only about creating a land that only they would want to live in, one filled with hypocrisy and a scathing hatred of women and other perceived minorities.”
Thomas Pain on Jul 4, 2013 at 08:55:05
“I don't know how creative that is . . . the Nazis tried it eighty years ago, it didn't work out all that good for them. Sooner or later the victims tire of being victims, and rise up in wrath.”
“I also agree with about half of what you said. The problem is that we've become a society who either doesn't take things seriously enough, or we overact. Regardless, this young mans comments, while perhaps a poor attempt at humor, highlight an all too familiar condition of our society... don't get mad, get even. Shootings, especially mass shootings, and especially ones where children are involved, have become commonplace. While this young man may have made these comments in jest, this current ailment of our society is no joking matter. Perhaps if people took the little time it requires to actually think before acting/reacting then our society wouldn't be as screwed up as its become?”
