johngary66 on Oct 27, 2013 at 09:23:49

“You don't like Alan Grayson because he points out things that you ignore. There are many, many reasons to criticize Obama. I stopped watching MSNBC because it was just another lamestream corporate owned media outlet that was conveniently ignoring the many things about Obama and his policies that needed to be heard. It was in effect defending Obama from his critics on the left. There are very few real democrats left, and Alan Grayson is one of them. I dare blind Obama partisans, and there really isn't any other kind, to read obamatheconservative.com. It is an essay from the left that unfortunately only covers his first two years in office. What it does do is provide a very well documented view of the real Obama. The one who brought us NDAA which most Americans don't even know exists. Even George Bush never went as far as NDAA. It gives the president the power to kidnap anyone who he decides might "someday" be a threat to this country. There is no need for the constitutionals rights of that individual to be honored, no relative even need get any kind of explanation. YOU simply disappear, probably forever. This includes everybody anywhere in the world at any time. Most members of Congress voted for this totally Unconstitutional law. Welcome 1984.”

I personally believe in the God described in the Bible,But,I do not believe that it should be taught in public schools.
I do not see any harm,ONLY Benefit,in teaching ID along side Evolution,BUT,I also think that neither of them should be taught until College, because Children's minds are far to immature to sort through all the info and be able to think critically about it,.so what you get is Brain washing.”

3rd...what is the Consequence to Obama or anyone else who votes yes..IF indeed "boots on the ground" or ANY American is wounded or killed by any unforseen consequences from the strike occurs ? WE..the little people of the world and our children are the ones who pay with our lives.
So..If they are willing to sign a binding agreement, that should any american die in this action or what follows from it..They will spend 5 yrs in prison..3 years in prison for every wounded.
Then they trully have skin in the game..so to speak.Lets add 10 years per syrian child killed by the action”

“excerpt from Ron Paul speech against military action in Iraq

' I must oppose this resolution, which regardless of what many have tried to claim will lead us into war with Iraq. This resolution is not a declaration of war, however, and that is an important point: this resolution transfers the Constitutionally-mandated Congressional authority to declare wars to the executive branch. This resolution tells the president that he alone has the authority to determine when, where, why, and how war will be declared. It merely asks the president to pay us a courtesy call a couple of days after the bombing starts to let us know what is going on. This is exactly what our Founding Fathers cautioned against when crafting our form of government: most had just left behind a monarchy where the power to declare war rested in one individual. It is this they most wished to avoid.

As James Madison wrote in 1798, "The Constitution supposes what the history of all governments demonstrates, that the executive is the branch of power most interested in war, and most prone to it. It has, accordingly, with studied care, vested the question of war in the legislature."

Some- even some in this body- have claimed that this Constitutional requirement is an anachronism, and that those who insist on following the founding legal document of this country are just being frivolous. I could not disagree more."”

“Hopefully every member will go and read Ron Paul's speech against war in Iraq ( since he was right all along ) .He also argued that only CONGRESS has the power to declare war,and he was upset because they were giving up their duty by giving that power to a president.
I agree with Ron Paul, and think Obama very brave, to send the decision back to congress where it belongs. Though insisting he will do what he wants regardless of what we the people do,is kind of contrary to his other decision to follow the constitution.
Those same hawks who claim the president HAS the power even without congress, are the same ones that cry war over everything. They seem so eager to go to war. They are also the same people who don't seem to think it WRONG for the NSA to be doing what they have, they tend to support a police state here in America. Think about that”

Obama decides to do something, especially after last attack...Congress says hold it! Obama says okay, you make the decision, since you need something to impeach me for...war as good as anything...No, I change my mind because I have to get Congress approval which they won`t to supposedly make Obama look bad again, so he thinks, " i`ll sit this one out since the UK, France, Germany and the Arab League blinked...no longer my problem!" So another Obama slam dunk...just saying.”
