“As a lifelong car nut, I dreamed of the day I could buy and drive a Corvette. When that day finally came (I was in my 30s), I discovered they would have to put chocks on the pedals just so my 4'10" frame could drive the car! I was crushed! Naturally, this ruled out a host of other cars I loved too! And if any car doesn't have a tilt steering wheel and electric seats, I'm toast!”

“THIRTY YEARS? What a joke! The technology to effect climate change is here NOW and we're allowing these profiteers to just bide their time while our world suffers for it! We went from the Earth to the Moon and back in one decade and we started from zilch. We harnessed the best and the brightest minds we had and we began with a firm resolve. We can certainly do this type of thing when it comes to climate change but NOBODY wants to!

Of COURSE the politicians are against effecting climate change. Look at any major oil company's or coal company's letterhead and you find politicians on their Boards. It's no wonder they don't want to harness solar energy! Their pocketbooks would be bereft!

Take one look at the Middle East over the last century. Solar power was being used in the 1920s to irrigate the lush Nile Delta but it was stopped once oil became king. Does anyone honestly believe the implosion of the Middle East and the explosion of terrorism would have occurred had oil not been discovered there?

We have ZERO strong leadership and we have ZERO resolve to change!”

You simply never get over the loss of a loving and caring Mother. They are the closest you will ever come to a completely unselfish love and that is their gift to us. I give you my sympathy on the loss of your own Mother and I know she is there watching over you just as mine is watching over me - girls they gave life to! How very blessed we both are to have had Mothers like ours!”

“Okay. There's a way to fix this puritanical school. Uniforms! Then, everyone can look like everyone else. We wore uniforms at the girls school I attended. Not one smidgen of makeup was allowed either. And there was no hiking up hemlines, as you were made to kneel on the floor and that hemline better curl up! I admit we hated it but I have noticed, in retrospect, we were never in competition with one another for the latest fad clothing. There was never any bullying either.”

“Those of you who state that if the public is vaccinated, the point is moot, obviously do not have children! A child cannot receive his first MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) until 12-15 months of age. Therefore, those kids and adults older than that who contract measles put any infant in extreme danger! Measles is the most serious of the three viral diseases and it does kill. Your putting my child in danger because of your ignorance is unforgivable!”

“If the MSM had a fit over these two black fathers raising black children, they would have a field day with our white friends, two fathers together 20 years, raising three black children from infancy - their son is now 14 and their twin daughters are 4. All three children were products of crack-addicted and abusive homes but are now thriving. Just like heterosexual couples, these men have been bleary-eyed from walking the floor night after night with a sick child, they go to every football game (their son is the QB), they never miss a parent-teacher conference and they bake cookies every month for their kids' classes. Frankly, they are better parents than too many heterosexual couples we know! When a child is unwanted and finds a loving home, we should be rejoicing and not denigrating those who have hearts big enough to adopt that child.”

I am an Independent who liked McCain very much but didn't vote for him purely because I couldn't abide the thought of Palin being that close to the Presidency. I also was leaning toward Romney but didn't vote for him for three reasons: 1) His choice of Paul Ryan, 2) his gaffes overseas, and 3) his refusal to release his tax returns and then only releasing redacted returns.”

“Firstly, the NY Post has never been a "journalistic entity" and, frankly, I don't believe they purport to be so. Secondly, a woman on her third marriage, unwed and already having a child, is not normally walking down the aisle several times (they were already married in the U.S.) in full regalia as if she was some virginal princess and not what KK is and that is nothing more than a thrice married porn star who has previously made nothing but a mockery out of marriage. If you want an indictment on marriage, try throwing that at Kardashian and not the NY Post!”

I'd bet that if you go back in this kid's life, you'll find that if he didn't get his way, he threw a hissy fit with his parents too! Girls see right through brats like this and want no part of them. He should have had mental health counseling years ago but, with divorced parents, they probably tried to soothe his feathers with things rather than love and helping his insecurities - something very typical in divorced parents. Money can't buy love and it definitely can lead to senseless tragedy like this one. Just look at John du Pont - another mental health problem ending in tragedy in a rich family.”

“How do you think this President was elected - twice? Purely on the votes from black people? I'm sorry you feel the way you do but times are definitely changing as the old die off and the younger generations realize that we are all equal. I will state, however, that prejudice has always been a two-way street. Black Americans have been guilty of it as well and I'm seeing more of it today against the growing Mexican-American population.”

kirkwood on May 28, 2014 at 02:19:09

“@Marie

It may be a two way street, but it's never been an equal two-way street--white people historically, always had the legal and political power to enforce their hatred and prejudice against black people and people of color. So black folks have had way more legitimate reasons to dislike white people because that prejudice is still being practiced against us, just not as openly. So it's not even the same thing on either side. And white people are even more prejudiced against Mexicans, so don't even put all that of us.”

greasedog on May 27, 2014 at 09:10:48

“You're right Marie. Blacks have been guilty of prejudice. Not many blacks however, have been guilty of racism. See, prejudice is rarely damaging to others unless it turns into action. Without the power and authority to "act" on prejudice it's relatively inconsequential. Of the two, who has had the "lion's share" of power and authority in our society? Of the two, who has actually affected a great many lives with that power and authority? Therefore, you're making a false equivalence between black prejudice and white racism. The two are not the same.”

need2know on May 27, 2014 at 07:38:34

“And Marie you dont know what you are talking about. You want to know what is going on in LA or any heavey hispanic city that has a sizeable black population pick up a news paper. I bet you did not know that in California up and down the coast hispanic gang members are getting their bones ( their street cred) for killing a black person, any black person. Male, female old, or young it does not matter. Its not hate that is driving a wedge between hispanics and blacks, its the cold blooded murder of black citizens. In fact just 5 years ago a little girl who was the daughter of a close childhood friend mine was skipping rope in her own driveway and two hispanic gang members gunned her down in her own driveway, just so they can get their street cred. So before you go thinking you know what the heck is going on in minority neighborhoods i suggest you buy a clue. And just an FYI, black Americans could never heap the same amount of hatred or racism that was heaped on us from the begining of this country. In fact it would take about 2 thousand years for blacks to even began to get equal to what white America has done to all its ethnic minority citizens.”

long3805 on May 26, 2014 at 16:15:25

“Black people made up less than 10% of the total votes totals in both elections. He was elected by democrats. We have to stop whining about everything that we've known for years. The Jews said they would never forget what Hitler did and have made sure it want happen again, but as soon as Jim Crow took his foot of our neck we forgot about it. We have ourselves to blame for most of our problems, Education, Education and more Education, let's shock the world by teaching our kids the three R's before their first birthday, they are smarter than you think. There I said it.”

rcarsonk on May 26, 2014 at 02:48:55

“Here here Marie....I agree. Times are changing.....thank whichever God you pray to. It will be the younger generations that set us on the right path in this manner....but it will be slow progress. I also agree that bigotry and prejudice is present in all of humanity. For as much as we fight to elevate our peoples, we continue to do so by stepping on the backs of others.....not saying it's right, just that it is.”

Martin Snapp on May 25, 2014 at 18:08:10

“That's right. Trivialize the issue by creating a false equivalency.”

Seattle Noir on May 25, 2014 at 13:30:25

“Are you really that daft, the president was elected twice because the 2 white people and their running mates (especially the 2nd time around) was really just that bad. And we as blacks wouldn't be guilty of anything if it wasn't done to us generation after generation for 400+ yrs, so but whites really earned the prejudice they get.”

Fishcakes on May 25, 2014 at 06:10:28

“While we most certainly have communication barriers, that has caused differential conflicts, I yet to see Black folks view Hispanics, Asians, Jews and even the Caucasians as sub humans. And they day that I do then I can give your thought some attention. Furthermore, whatever you are seeing and or experiencing is perhaps more to do with personal space and or lack of than with color differences.”

unebaiser on May 24, 2014 at 15:53:51

“Institutionalized oppression is a long, long, one way street. Save the false equivalent nonsense please.”

erickpk on May 24, 2014 at 14:36:49

“Prejudice is never a two-way street.

Without power, prejudice (while still bad) is meaningless. Blacks, Asians, and Hispanics have no power. There are powerful Blacks, Asians, and Hispanics, but as a group, I think we all know where the power in this country rests.

Even assuming your premise is true, blacks have no power to (negatively) effect the lives of Hispanics.”
