That being said the bible you quote from was not written by god or jesus so I don't see how it can be their words. Who are you to assume that I "sin"? As to the hardening of my heart I suggest that it's my heart and it isn't very hard at all,after all I am a"bleeding heart liberal". Until you actually meet me, which will be never please don't presume that you know what is and is not in my heart. You will note that I have not attacked you nor tried to "convert" you to my way of thinking. That's called being polite and open hearted and I didn't have to go to a book to learn to be that way! Some of us don't need the Bible to tell us that it's wrong to lie, cheat, steal, or hurt or disrespect ourselves or others. For some of us, this is not just the obvious way to live, it's the easiest way to live. It's not a constant struggle to do these things, because it simply doesn't make sense not to do these things.

That doesn't mean that there aren't hard decisions that have to be made, but doing the right thing is it's own reward.

For those that DO need the Bible for that, I'm glad it's available to them- but that doesn't make it the only way to be a good person.”
