Switch To Electronic Health Records Could Miss Federal Targets

“I've always wondered how many accidents have been cause by smokers lighting up and taking their eyes off the road. OR smokers dropping cigarettes in the laps or on the floorboard.
Both my parents smoked and I can remember many a near miss and a few fender benders caused from "cigarette accidents". One time my Dad ran off the road after dropping a cigarette while drinking a cup of coffee and smoking while driving. Of course that never went in the police report. Just inattentive driving or failure to yield.”

“I've been driving for 17 years and have been smoking longer, and I've never had a "cigarette accident" while driving *knocks on wood*, nor have i had to take my eyes off the road to light a cigarette. Lighting a cigarette is a pretty simple procedure. Sorry your parents aren't very coordinated.
On the same note, I wonder how many accidents are caused by people changing the radio station, or putting in a CD, or skipping a track on a CD, adjusting the volume etc...”

“"Common sense" is NOT very common considering it appears to have been bred out of Americans in general.Th e elections of 2000 and 2004 tell us that.
So I'm not quite sure how many today will actually be offended.
They may feign embarrassment at being caught breaking a new law but they will be clueless as to why it was prohibited in the first place.”

“You're probably right. There is so much to expose in the health care industry that if people knew the depth of some of the problems, they'd be outraged and demand a single payer system just to get it all under control... he||, they'd probably want to completely socialize it and put the providers on salary.
We wouldn't want to upset the status quo, however. A few questions to always ask your doctor - 1) where did you go go school 2) where did you graduate in your class 3) how many were in your class 4) how many times have you been before the state board and no action was taken (in some states this info is not made public).”

This would be a great time to follow the politicians home and report on state politics.”
