“Actually, nibblybits, this idea - that if you're not growing it yourself that you're getting it from (and therefore contributing to the profits and bloodshed of) the black market run by MS13 or the Ciudad or Juarez cartels - is not even remotely accurate: in a medical marijuana state like California - where most of the people on this list live, btw - the growing is done legally, under State law, on American-owned farms in tolerant counties in the North. There's no profit motive to work with the black market and there's no need to in the first place.

That's kind of the POINT of those who make the case for legalization at a Federal level: it works here, it can work elsewhere.

The issue of porous borders and the massive gang presence in my adopted home state is another one entirely, and has no connection to nor place in the legitimate, legally-approved MM industry as developed here.”
