“Oh tired tired me. There is no winning. You can bomb or kill people into not hating you enough to take their own lives to prove a point. Rich home based bright student taking flying lessons in Florida perpetrated 9/11. Nothing done in the Middle East wins over that? Learn from IRA. They had to forgive them bombing Maggies hotel. Just as we had to forgive the bombs and guns and deaths paid for in New York pubs which miraculously stopped after 9/11. Terrorism came home to roost right? Lets say it. IRA had to give it up after that? Wonder why it took that to do it?”

“This is NOT just an American issue. It is a NATO issue. If American want NATO to be in attendance then stop calling it a war. Britain are increasing their troops against the will of the people but start seeing it as an International force issue unlike Iraq was. Killed By Undercover Narcotics Officers

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man died late Saturday after what police described as an exchange of gunfire with two undercover narcotics officers just off Philips Highway in the South Metro area.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the detectives had been working undercover for about three hours in the 2300 block of Westmont Street when a man approached them with a gun just before 6 p.m. The officers said they identified themselves as police and ordered the suspect to put down the gun.

Witnesses said that the man refused to drop his gun and gunshots were exchanged. The man was shot several times.

"The man came out three times and was like, 'Why are you not moving out of my yard,'" a resident told Channel 4's Jennifer Bauer. "So after the third time that dude came out of the house, he came with a .357 and started shooting at the individuals, which were the undercover police. They started shooting back at him."

Police said he died later -Jacksonville Medical Center.
The victim was an elderly man who was very protective of his property.

"You don't expect somebody to come pointing a gun at you, and once they do that, the officers will tell them to drop the gun," JSO Chief Dwain Senterfitt said. "We're still investigating statements made, but obviously, at that point, the officers' lives were in danger."”

“Police are a million miles different here from the species I have known for 58 years in the UK. They do the job differently. They are moved around frequently so they don't get too cozy. They don't get a free vehicle. They would get surrounded by the public over many of the outlandish things allowed here. The contact is a more personal thing and they know they are more accountable. The figures that state that losing $15 of the defense budget would give all Americans free health? Another 15% would give all the youth a University education. Does America really need to spend more on defense than the whole rest of the world does annually?”

“All Americans need to be able to wake up to the warm feeling of health care with all its limitations that the 5000 on board USS Nimitz already have? Government run health care clearly works and no doubt the costs are kept in line quite well? No shortage of doctors and inflated insurance costs? Just apply the same logistics to cover the rest of America? Then get rid of a few of these tubs to help cover the costs?”

“This is a very well thought out article and should be read and digested on a weekly basis. In eight years here I have rarely read such a self searching mindset. To have written such an article in Bush's height would have been plain treason. Couple this article with the one about the defence budget and you have the answer to Health Care for all Americans. Cut defence by 15% and there is your health care. Cut it a further 15% and you have university education for all Americans. I groan and groan to myself when I read or hear once again of a reference to the 'Constitution'? I can't imagine Brits having to constantly refer to the Magna Carte' to see the sense in things? It is a time to look ahead and not drag the founding fathers up all the time? They did not even have time for the women in the world?”

Just how many Americans do enjoy the social system of the military. Are Republicans scared that when it is available to all that some incentive to enlist will be lost? Just how much DO Americans pay to keep this tub afloat and what for? How many others and how much cost? I think it is 50 milion or 50 billion for each plane? The helmet for each pilot is about $60,000 he brags? Buy a house with that? Also NASA. How much to build a toilet? Or a pen that works in space? Did the Russians not use a pencil? Proud of going to the Moon? Why not? Now be proud of not having people die aged 50 with diabetes they cannot afford treatment for?”

What hey ho we can get to 'Mars' anytime we want?”
