Why Joe Biden Should Resign

Why Joe Biden Should Resign

“Oh tired tired me. There is no winning. You can bomb or kill people into not hating you enough to take their own lives to prove a point. Rich home based bright student taking flying lessons in Florida perpetrated 9/11. Nothing done in the Middle East wins over that? Learn from IRA. They had to forgive them bombing Maggies hotel. Just as we had to forgive the bombs and guns and deaths paid for in New York pubs which miraculously stopped after 9/11. Terrorism came home to roost right? Lets say it. IRA had to give it up after that? Wonder why it took that to do it?”

“This is NOT just an American issue. It is a NATO issue. If American want NATO to be in attendance then stop calling it a war. Britain are increasing their troops against the will of the people but start seeing it as an International force issue unlike Iraq was. It is a peacekeeping force that is needed and keeping civilian casualties to the minimum i required to 'win the peace'. Nothing that anyone does and no increased force will stop a repeat of 9/11 in some future time and place if there is sufficient hatred. These native Afghans and Irai's did not perpetrate 9/11. That was done by bright/clever rich Saudi students and some who have lived here for years with kids. Thay and the backing of money and thats all it took. They studied here and in Germany and got clever enough to fly planes. Can you see these tribesmen being that threat? get real Folks?”

“Judging by the IRA issue. 3000 killed over 30 years. You release the bombers of the Brighton Hotel where Maggie was having a convention and let them become politicians. I don't think that flattening Belfast and Dublin with drone bombs was going to achieve anything somehow. Perhaps we need to examine whether they have any issues in how we view Arab nations against how we view the Jewish in the Middle East conflict?”

“Unfortunately what has trickled down is the homelessness and joblessness that has increased and increased over a long time. It is like ignoring when your neighbor is badly treated or arrested and we shrug our shoulders and go to dinner? The greed and opulence is drying up. The American Dream is 'just that'. The American 'desire' should have been to be frugal and to see that no child went without dental care in the nation. The waste with cars and gas and war and space all 'did not matter'. Norway invested their oil money in buying cheap shares on a depleted US market? Go Figure. What 'goes around, comes around' folks. This time there is the option to get it right for all citizens. Choose that?”

“The American Dream? How about The British Dream. That all British children will get free dental care. I have been appalled by horror stories of poorer classes children geting their first free dental aged eight years old and an infant lining up for hours in LA to get her first dental check and needing two extractions? Why don't the pro health care 'townhallers' arm themselves with these terrible facts? Solidarity brought about the National Health and tax payers have happily borne the load? Americans actually brag that they 'will not' care for their own? Go Figure?”

Killed By Undercover Narcotics Officers

POSTED: Saturday, January 27, 2007

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man died late Saturday after what police described as an exchange of gunfire with two undercover narcotics officers just off Philips Highway in the South Metro area.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the detectives had been working undercover for about three hours in the 2300 block of Westmont Street when a man approached them with a gun just before 6 p.m. The officers said they identified themselves as police and ordered the suspect to put down the gun.

Witnesses said that the man refused to drop his gun and gunshots were exchanged. The man was shot several times.

"The man came out three times and was like, 'Why are you not moving out of my yard,'" a resident told Channel 4's Jennifer Bauer. "So after the third time that dude came out of the house, he came with a .357 and started shooting at the individuals, which were the undercover police. They started shooting back at him."

Police said he died later -Jacksonville Medical Center.
The victim was an elderly man who was very protective of his property.

"You don't expect somebody to come pointing a gun at you, and once they do that, the officers will tell them to drop the gun," JSO Chief Dwain Senterfitt said. "We're still investigating statements made, but obviously, at that point, the officers' lives were in danger."”

“Police are a million miles different here from the species I have known for 58 years in the UK. They do the job differently. They are moved around frequently so they don't get too cozy. They don't get a free vehicle. They would get surrounded by the public over many of the outlandish things allowed here. The contact is a more personal thing and they know they are more accountable. You do NOT get all the tasing there. In the favor of the American cop? The mentally ill are more controlled and protected from themselves in the UK. British police are not Rambo types. They have to have the patience of JOB. They have to get used to being shouted at. 'Sticks and stones', and all that?”

Knowbetter replied on Jul 24, 2009 at 15:18:01

“You hit on an important point when you mentioned the mentally ill. St. Ronald of Reagan DISMANTLED our menatl-health system early in his reign. Put 'em on the streets.”

“Didn't you know? It seems most people in the US are too st00pid to remember that little saying.

At the same time, Gates was not entirely innocent in this. He could have easily interacted in a more civil way. From the accounts I have read, he started out in a huff because an officer had the nerve to knock on his door.

What you see here is that people are inflating it beyond what it is. They claim racial profiling, yet the police were called. A response to a call is not profiling. Now if the cops were just driving down the street and decided to harass him because he is black, that is actually profiling.”

Klimb replied on Jul 24, 2009 at 08:56:20

“By the way many policemen in the US are also used to being shouted at this case is one of those isolated incidences. FYI...US (50 States with TEXAS alone probably bigger than UK) is much larger than the UK (comprise of Northern Ireland,Scotland and Britain only) and thus, governance never as comparable to a smaller (UK) locale.”

Health Care Reform: Some Clarification Needed

Commented Jul 23, 2009 at 15:39:37 in Politics

“He might have a problem getting any kind of program let alone be fussy. They obviously don't want to lose the huge incentive to join the military. There are 5000 cozy Americans on USS Nimitz who enjoy what most Canadians and Brits enjoy. They all wake up to Government health care. I imagine the sailors are a bit limited on choice of doctors but never mind. Better than waking up after a wreck and owing $50,000 for treatment? The figures that state that losing $15 of the defense budget would give all Americans free health? Another 15% would give all the youth a University education. Does America really need to spend more on defense than the whole rest of the world does annually?”

“All Americans need to be able to wake up to the warm feeling of health care with all its limitations that the 5000 on board USS Nimitz already have? Government run health care clearly works and no doubt the costs are kept in line quite well? No shortage of doctors and inflated insurance costs? Just apply the same logistics to cover the rest of America? Then get rid of a few of these tubs to help cover the costs?”

“This is a very well thought out article and should be read and digested on a weekly basis. In eight years here I have rarely read such a self searching mindset. To have written such an article in Bush's height would have been plain treason. Couple this article with the one about the defence budget and you have the answer to Health Care for all Americans. Cut defence by 15% and there is your health care. Cut it a further 15% and you have university education for all Americans. I groan and groan to myself when I read or hear once again of a reference to the 'Constitution'? I can't imagine Brits having to constantly refer to the Magna Carte' to see the sense in things? It is a time to look ahead and not drag the founding fathers up all the time? They did not even have time for the women in the world?”

“Republicans do a great job in scaring the public about the social system and social health care and I have to smile as I watch the series 'Carrier' which is being rerun on PBS. There you have 5000 Americans on one boat and they all wake up to social care. They never have to worry about the sack or about contracting cancer. Just how many Americans do enjoy the social system of the military. Are Republicans scared that when it is available to all that some incentive to enlist will be lost? Just how much DO Americans pay to keep this tub afloat and what for? How many others and how much cost? I think it is 50 milion or 50 billion for each plane? The helmet for each pilot is about $60,000 he brags? Buy a house with that? Also NASA. How much to build a toilet? Or a pen that works in space? Did the Russians not use a pencil? Proud of going to the Moon? Why not? Now be proud of not having people die aged 50 with diabetes they cannot afford treatment for?”
