Revisiting One Of Jackie O's Crown Jewels

Revisiting One Of Jackie O's Crown Jewels

Commented Dec 19, 2009 at 16:07:05 in Style

“My oldest sister has a pair and won't even borrow them out :)
The repo's are very beautidully done and I too have looked at antique shops, flea markets etc. and have never seen a pair--I just think people who have them aren't giving them up.”

mlaiuppa replied on Dec 20, 2009 at 16:13:21

“It's been 35-40 years now. I'd think at some point they would start to show up at estate sales and thus on the internet on eBay or vintage jewelry sites.

I can't believe there were so few. You could buy them everywhere. May Co. had them in their jewelry dept.

Perhaps those people selling them just don't know they are knock-offs of Jackie O's dolphin hoops from Aristotle.”

“I agree with you 100%. No one is responsible for Tigers actions except for Tiger. He chose to cheat. While I have no respect for these women, it all comes down to Tiger making his own decisions for himself.
Maybe as a father of two young kiddos he should have been spending his time with them. I hope his wife has been tested and is planning on getting retested for HIV, because I doubt irresponsible Tiger took the proper steps for protection.”

“As a medically fragile foster mom my dogs have often helped those kiddos recover and learn to trust.
I have also had 2 search and rescue and two therapy dogs ( we visit nursing homes and a childrens hospital wing weekly) that were all rescues.
If anyone wants a dog, many wonderful ones are waiting. And there are many breed specific rescues if you want a particular breed.
The one benefit I have found in adopting adults over puppies is that you can see what their adult temperament is like. There always seems to be someone to take the puppies, so please consider an adult dog :)”

Can Meditation Save The World?

Can Meditation Save The World?

Commented Dec 10, 2009 at 00:46:13 in Living

“Ed and Deb,
I have read a few books and I still am trying to explore what meditation really is. I guess I do it my own way :) and maybe for me thats the best. An elder in my tribe always just told me to be one with the mother ( mother earth, to be alone and concentrate on something anything in nature until you feel you are close to the mother. A single blade of grass, a rabbit trail, a field of long grass swaying in the breeze, waiting for the sun to rise and watching the sky change...thats how I seem to meditate. It may or may not be technically the right way, but the more I explore I keep going back to it. The oneness as I see it is internal calm and serenity. Is this meditation or is this just my form of meditation..or is that what the search is about for everyone to find their own way.

PS
I hope you are not offended but I just got two new foster horses in ( they will most likely stay forever as they are older) and they are both so gentle and calm that I have named them Ed and Deb :)”

“CR46 - great comment and always happy to see you here sharing your view

Meditation is really what works for you .. a blade of grass or any of the above that you mention

when I ski I become one with what is

ultimate all the practices are just techniques. Meditation occurs when everything even the practice just drops away ..and there is just

PRESENCE

Deb and I are delighted that you have named 2 gentle and calm foster horses Ed and Deb. We went to bed last night smiling.

BE THE CHANGE - MEDITATE

“I'm more concerned that without his hearing aides in and glasses on that he is being islolated in a sea of people that he is not a part of. The interaction or lack of, is detrimental to his growth and development. It is becoming very late for the little one, after a certain age the ability to learn drops off rapidly. Physical, speech therapy and a close watch on that heart condition seem to come last on the list for that family. I have fostered 17 DS children over the years( medically fragile foster care) and it is a full time job daily to see to their needs. DS children can develop into independent adults but not without tons of therapy and committment from the primary caregivers. My hat is off to the many parents of special needs children, who day in and day out work hard to care for and help their children acheive the most out of their lives.”

she seems to use the baby as a prop

it's amazing that her fans are blind to her ways and have blind faith in whatever she says. In an interview a devotee was asked would he vote for her if he didn't know her foreign policy and he said yes.

She can do no wrong with them and that is dangerous. They would follow her anywhere.

“Good Boy Baxter Good Boy!!
I spent the afternoon visiting a nursing home with my two terri-poo's, Bert and Ernie. It was a hectic morning and I was a little stressed by the time it was time to go. Upon arrival I was met with smiles, laughs, and cheers, as I escorted my dogs to their "job". My stress was lifted and was replaced with joy watching my two little buddies "make friends" all afternoon :)
The nurses and aides always say this is the happiest day of the week for their residents and that they talk about it for days after and then start talking about the next scheduled visit.
Rescue a dog, they make and spread pure happiness.”

“One good hint if you are looking for free-range chicken or grassfed beef is to ask around at your local farmers market. Many of those that raise fruits and veggies also raise meat for their families and friends or know someone that does. I do sell grassfed beef ( on a very small scale) and most of the people I sell to have approached me through friends, I do not advertize. ( I have even bartered with people).
But be prepared to buy a larger amount, most small operations will want you to buy a 1/4, 1/2/ or full steer, but that also brings down the price per lb, just invest in a freezer.”

“Good Morning Ed and Deb,
Well I tried yoga, I started a class that is supposed to be more about spirituality...found out it was more about exercise. I guess I do meditate in my own way and will continue to do so. I think for me I need to just be by myself and outside in a quiet spot. My attempt at yoga (not too many choices in this area) did not work right now, but maybe its something I will try at a different point in time.
My meditation for the day was walking out of the horse stable this morning and watching the sun rise as I sat on the fence. I think personally I need to be outside when I think(or don't think) and not closed in at all, an elder of my tribe told me a many years ago that to be at peace you need to be with mother(nature). The more I read and the more I try I still come back to I what works for me.
Everyone has there own path and must find their own. Content for now (at having explored a new option) But even that option has given me things to think about(more from reading books though) and understanding what "works" for others.”
