“This past Monday I had a second interview that I thought went really, really well. I was feeling really good about myself and finally moving forward from a situation that I'm not really happy in.. and then I allowed someone to essentially rain on my parade.
So, I'm glad this guy didn't let anything or anyone keep him from having a good life. Good for you, man! Kinda made me realize that I should be proud of my accomplishments.. no matter the size. I love what I do and while it may not make me 100k a year.. it doesn't even matter!”

“I think she's absolutely right. She can support the Let's Move campaign and do Pepsi commercials because it is a choice. That's her choice. It says it right there in the article "sugary drinks that, when consumed in excess, have negative effects on long-term health."
It's Pepsi's job to target certain people to sell their product to. How else are they supposed to make money? They're only SUGGESTING you have a cold Pepsi on a hot day.. not pouring it down your throat every time you get thirsty.
So if you want your kids to make better choices then TEACH them to choose water instead of juice or soda. Beyonce shouldn't be the only one influencing your children.”
“I actually made some dark chocolate Guinness cupcakes with Bailey's Irish Cream buttercream last week. They were really good!
But Guinness on it's own is too bitter for my taste. I like it in a cake better lol”
“When I got to the 5th name I had to laugh. It reminded me of a story my coworker told me back when she was pregnant with her second child. She asked her 4 year old son what he thought his future little sister's name should be and his response was "How about Harriet!?" LOL Riley is almost 2 now.”

“My mom was pregnant when I was almost 4 years old and they asked me what I thought they should name my soon-to-be-born brother. I told them Adam, after Prince Adam, which was He-Man's regular persona. They thought the reason was funny because I was such a big He-Man fan, but they did indeed choose that name.
A former coworker told me about what his son wanted to name his little brother----Grover and Bathtub were his two top picks.
An old college friend’s little boy had the same idea for his choices of names, basically all inanimate objects. His choices were Necklace, Truck and something else that I can’t remember.”
“Every now and then I catch an episode of MSA and it's always cringe-worthy. From the previews for the season I can already tell.. it'll be worse than last season. Woman who stings herself with bees everyday.. girl who eats sand.. coffee enemas. Someone help these people!! lol”
“Obviously the company could never know who exactly is getting their fortunes. If parents have such a problem with "romantic" sounding fortunes.. then they should not give them the cookies or maybe even come up with fortunes of their own, rather than griping and making a company change theirs. Most of the time, the darn things are FREE, so quit complaining!
And the one's that are replacing the original ones.. aren't even fortunes. They're more like self esteem boosters. Gosh.. some people have way too much time on their hands. If I was the owner of the cookie company, I wouldn't change a thing. Tough noogies to those self-absorbed parents!”
“I'm only 5'3" myself.. but I like tall men. I've been attracted to tall, short and men of average height but tall men.. there's just something about them. At my height though, nearly everyone is taller than I am lol oh well! Viva el hombre alto!”
“The poor thing.. who ever thinks that they could be allergic to hair dye? I don't dye my hair.. never have, probably never will.. but this will definitely make me think twice about it if I ever find myself wanting too lol”
“Umm.. I know lots of people who've adopted cats particularly to chase away mice or some kind of rodent from their homes, my sister included. I'm not a cat person but I'd probably do the same if there was a crafty rat in my house. Just sayin'.”

“Same with me. When I was in school, my instructors would always tell me that my food needed MORE salt. I would add as little as I could get away with. But I never like my own food salty.. I'll add more spice (like black or red pepper) before I add salt. The idea of high blood pressure has always scared the bejeesus out of me!”
“I wish someone would return my moms diamond anniversary ring she got from her job as a 25th year gift. She was so proud of herself and loved that ring!! It would probably mean a whole lot more NOW since she retired in 2011 on her 41st year.
Ugh, people can be so stupid. But it definitely takes a mature person to do this. Very nice!”
GracieLand69 on Jan 15, 2013 at 17:11:06
“I am hoping and praying for the return of your mom's ring, I have an idea, if you have a photo of it place it in your facebook and see where it goes :)”

“I recently started dieting (and I haven't worked up my courage to go to the gym or take a run around *deep sigh*) but I've been surfing the web for suggestions for balanced meals and tips, but every website seems to contradict the one before. One says all rice is good, another says choose brown or wild, not white. One says to stay away from bread completely, another says opt for whole grain/wheat and/or eat very little. What works for some doesn't work for everyone, and I'm learning that I have to find what's right for me. I'm going to stay away from trend diets and not eat when I'm bored. Eventually I'll be less self conscious and get a gym membership. I know I won't workout at home.. so if I'm wasting a little gas to drive to the gym I'll have no choice but to get in a good workout, or else I've driven there for nothing.”

“Try MyFitnessPal. There is no gimmick. You tell it what you eat, it tells you how many calories you have left for the day. You tell it about your exercise, it tells how many you burned.”

“The mediterranean "diet" (actually a way of life for the peoples of the mediterranean) comes out on top in virtually all studies. Lots of fruits and vegetables, small amounts of lean animal proteins, few fats and use olive or canola oil, seeds, nuts, pulses and very few sweets.
Take a walk for half an hour a day and you will be healthy, slim and fit.
The point is to change ones lifestyle, and not to "diet."”

“What worked for me was carb counting... no I didn't eliminate carbs, but I try to restict my diet to 50 carbs per meal... 0r 150 a day. Somedays Im over, some days Im under. I don't worry too much about calories, because if you watch your carbs, if you eat low carb foods, you tend to less lower calorie foods.
In the carb world, there isnt a LOT of difference between whole wheat and white bread, but, I still go for whole wheat. But the idea is to not eat much bread at all. I'm the guy who takes the top bun off a Wendy's burger, and devours it.
If you take a serious look, for a month, at the carbs you eat, you would be shocked. And, shocked at how easy it is to lose weight on a REASONABLE low carb diet. I can eat whatever I want... as long as I keep my total under 50 a meal. Yes , sometimes that means a donut and coffee for breakfast... knowing that donut is my 50 carb allowance. Works for me, and easy to carb count.”

“I had 2 relatives that lived to ripe, old ages. One passed in her mid-90's, the other just past her 100th birthday (from different sides of the family). Both of them ate what they wanted, but kept it in moderation. I seem to have the best success following their outlooks. However, I firmly believe that diet is not a "one size fits all" thing, especially since I had one co-worker that could eat anything she wanted in any quantity she wanted and never gained weight. I had a roommate in college who could just look at a slice of cake and put the pounds on. Good luck finding the combination that works for you, and continued success in your diet.”
“In my opinion, all of this "reality" show cr@p should not be aired on TV. Whether it's the Baskebtball Wives or Real Housewives.. Love & Hip Hop to Honey Boo Boo or Keeping Up with the Kardashian's, it's all disgusting and downright embarrassing. I'm not gonna lie, at one time I did watch Bball Wives but it didn't last long. The women are catty and immature and they don't put women (or Americans, for that matter) in a positive light at all. And this guy Shawty Lo, who tried to be a rapper at some point, is only doing this because his music career went nowhere. And why should he be rewarded for fathering 11 children with 10 different women? As a young African American woman, I find this show degrading and, frankly, I feel like it sets us back.”
dragondancer1814 on Jan 10, 2013 at 08:54:48
“That makes two of us-I watch very little TV anymore because so much of it is this "reality" tripe. So many channels are now airing this garbage that the number of channels with shows worth watching anymore can be counted on one hand. It's a sad commentary on entertainment today.”

“Well, I'm an old white guy & I totally agree with you except for one point - it sets all of us back. Although this kind of situation is epidemic among black americans so it gets the most press, but it's far from rare in other races & ethnic groups (Octomom for one). I've pretty much only viewed one or two episodes of some of the "reality" programs. The one's with children involved seem very close to abuse & the "adults" on most of the others are at best embarrassing. At worst, horrifying. But the real tragedy is the popularity of these garbage programs. TV in general is about 90% crap but to waste even a minute of your life watching this tripe fairly boogles my mind. But as long as there's a buck to be made I don't think junk TV's going away any time soon.”
“I've seen that little cartoon floating around the internet many, many times. I've never thought that it was about being gay. I mean, really, who wants to be right next to someone while the both of you are using the bathroom? I'm female and if I need to use a public restroom, I don't go into a stall right next to someone unless they're all full LOL (I guess that's just me then?)
All those people who made those anti-gay comments on that thread were just looking for something to gripe about.. as usual. People who have strong opinions on the matter ALWAYS seem to chime in, even when it's irrelevant. Just like I'm sure there will be people commenting on THIS article about the president, republicans/democrats being stupid or something else that has nothing to do with the story up top.”

“It's her body and her face.. she can do what she wants with them. And while kids are cruel, you can't only blame them for being bullies. The media is one big bully too.. dictating what beauty is and isn't.
She looks exactly like the stereotypical "blond bombshell". And yes, she's very pretty. But a person who is more secure in who they are and their looks seem to be more attractive than those who'd spend $70,000 for cosmetic surgery. Can you really have 'self' confidence when you aren't even your REAL self?”
willow reed on Nov 29, 2012 at 09:19:00
“I don't think the 'new' her is that pretty. And her hair looks fake, but it is her business and not ours. If she wants to look like that, so what. I hope she has a great life and lots of good will come her way.”
“EXACTLY! I work with food.. and sometimes co-workers come to work sick ( I understand that people have got bills to pay but you're working with food for goodness sake!!) so you can only imagine what they do while they're at home. NO THANKS! You can keep that slice of pie you're offering. I'll take your word for it that it's good. LOL”
“Exactly. The MGM lion killed 3 people just days after filming the famous intro and it's still used today. Blame the people that try to turn these wild animals into household pets..”

“Okay, I think I'm officially a horrible person. Never having heard that that lion KILLED three people, my first instinct was to laugh. So was my second.
(The kid dying, not so funny....)”

“Total internet hoax. Many different lions have been used to film the Studio clip. None ever killed anyone.”

“Did it really? I had no idea, thanks for the interesting fact, I will store it somewhere with the rest of my random useless knowledge, I like to pull it out and slap people in the face with it every now and again.”
“I was just thinking that too. I mean, if I had gone to that show and witnessed all of this, I'd just ask for my money back for the ticket I bought, and probably never pay to see him live again. Nothing more. Seemed like common sense to me but I suppose those show-goers didn't get that memo?
This "lawsuit" is merely kicking the little guy while he's down. What a shame!”

“I was there and the only people that I saw the night of the show were the security guards and food vendors. I contacted the Oracle Arena and Ticketmaster and so far have gotten NOTHING but the run around. If ticketmaster, the Oracle and Live Nation can all see what happened I don't understand what the issue is either for giving us back our money. I can also say that the clip is just ONE part of everything that had gone wrong and got a little scary that night.”

“I was at the show and on the night of the show the only people there were the security guards and food vendors. I have contacted the Oracle Arena and Ticket Master and have gotten NOWHERE. I absoloutley agree that getting our money back should not take a lawsuit especially when ticketmaster, livenation and the Oracle can all see for themselves what happend.”

“I work retail on the weekends and I've worked 6 Black Fridays total. The deals are never really that good (unless you're buying big things like TVs or some kind of electronic gadget) but people seem to fall for it every time. Truth is.. you can find that toy, pajama set or comforter set cheaper at a later date. It always amazes me, too, that people still continue to shop on this hectic day and then have the nerve to complain that lines and people are crazy. What did you expect? If I didn't work retail and HAVE to work on BF, I wouldn't step outside the house the day after Thanksgiving, especially to shop. SMH In all actuality it's the worst day to even be out in public. The day after you're so "thankful" you'd purposely dump someones stuff out of their shopping carriage, onto the floor, to steal their carriage and also to buy some of their things for yourself. WOW!”
