“:) I will try not to complain anymore when my Aussie awakes me at 5 AM. At 1 1/2 yrs he has a lust for life...He's my teacher!”

“I think my dog is scared of zombies. She wakes me up at 5AM and doesn't want to play or go to the bathroom. She wants me to sit cross legged on the floor and curls up in the little triangle and goes back to sleep. She jumps up and licks my face if dare go to to sleep again.”
“Ironically, was watching him in "It's Complicated" ... I believe officers often bother actors more than the layperson to set an example. Cautionary Tale: Don't leave home without ID? Sad. Love his work. Prediction: He will land on his feet (again).”
“Liz, if anyone is obese if they do not have health issues--heart, diabetes 2 and others--it's almost a given they will have some challenges as time goes on (if they r human). --health author for 30 yrs.”
“I don't see a difference except the last pic, very strong showing one has passed. Of course, life's challenges and how we cope can affect our health and the way we look but using side profiles doesn't show a lot.”

“There are lots of differences, but some are fairly subtle. In a face on shot, you also wouldn't be able to see much of their ears, and some of them are VERY different.”
“Mag...I've been health author for 30 yrs. As an author-journalist I interview high profile MDs, PhDs, and more. Read: I do my research! The deal is, many docs cannot write well, too technical so the mainstream audience cannot get it. I hold a master's degree in English (Creative Writing), have penned thousands of articles in national mags, have a book series...”

“I know I was just ribbing you. Most humans learn from actual experience research desire. My best friends daughter who is a world class science researcher turned down a fellowship at Harvard because they were just political. I don't think real doctors or even scholars come out of Harvard anymore. Our educational system is broken as well I have a Master in Telecom 4 generation AT&T we were the first DSL guys before Fiber and I can tell you 100% We would have all been fired if we turned up a piece of crap like ACA”
“Just received a call from my insurance provider rep. Still covered, I think. True, my premiums have been reduced, deductible increased. Regarding benefits? Nothing. No dental, no prescriptions, 40% co-pay for 3 doc visits per yr. I do get the free mammograms/wellness visit/colonoscopy...After I meet the 6,400 deductible I'm covered 100% for 1 yr.
I wonder if I get deathly ill, will hospice bake me a special goodbye pie if I live longer? :)
Perhaps this is why I'm a health author whom preaches and practices self-reliance to keep the monsters away.”

“You have no right to tell anyone about health if you are not a Big Time Harvard educated Doctor”
“It's not fair. I've paid all these yrs. Now people can get it--and I cannot? This doesn't make sense. I've been duped for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Never used it. And now, they can't find me in their system but they took my last payment? I'm floored. Ins. company says I don't exist. I've paid for 25 yrs! I'll try again in 2014 or my 2015. They're going to kill me with their ignorance.”

“I had the same thing with phone service, although it does not compare with you. But how have you never used health insurance? you never went to a doctor? They file every time you visit or get meds. Work hard enough and they will find you, but with Obamacare it doesnt matter if past insurance has found you or not. Just file as some one new to the market”
“I've been on the phone for 3 hours with insurance co. They are lost. All say something different. I'm this close after all these yrs. to just let it go. Too frustrating. They do not know what plan I'm on; I am losing patience. It was a smooth process and now nothing! They took my last premium payment and now are in the dark about what I'll be paying in Jan. I never even use the plan...new one is even worse (if possible).”
“nightmare! been a member of insurance co. for 25 yrs. now everything is a mess. killed my plan. won't tell me what my premiums are. on different page--all reps. i give up.”

“40 some times congress tried, knowing there was zero chance of repealing Obamacare. Even tried holding the country hostage in order to repeal Obamacare. Were willing to cripple the country and world to get this law repealed. Never offering suggestions on how to fix what ever problems are in Obamacare. You have to ask, why the insanity to stop this law.”
“I'm lost. So, as a self-employed individual, paying an arm/leg for Blue Shield premiums ...offered me an exchange, said my program was zapped--now I'm back to the zapped program? I don't want to call the reps...chewing bubble gum and it will upset me. Feeling All By Myself (paying 600 mo. for Healthy Tier 1)”
darrtown on Nov 27, 2013 at 19:27:32
“I'd say you should shop for cheaper coverage and then drop whoever is extracting an arm and a leg. I just perused the site (healthcare.gov) and found that for an individual a goodly number of plans (there are over 100 plans) are less than $250 a month. My work offered coverage for both of us for $1387 a month. Nope, no way. I'm covered for $512 a month, and I got my wife a policy at BCBS for $312. she's getting cancelled. So, I went on the site and it looks like I can get CHEAPER coverage for the same company for her. If we both went onto the ACA I would save even more. A decent plan (before any subsidy) could be around $325 for both of us. This is looking like a pretty good deal at first blush to me. So my suggestion would be for you to investigate the site. See what fits for you. I bet you can find a better plan for way less than $600.”
AntiSocialSailor on Nov 27, 2013 at 19:25:49
“Don't automatically accept your current insurer's offer for a new policy. That may prevent you from receiving a subsidy for which you'd otherwise be eligible.
Assume your current plan will be cancelled unless BCBS informs you otherwise.
Most of the companies will not be reinstating the plans they sent cancellation notices out on earlier this year. They will be void as of 2014.
Use the exchange in your state, if you have one, or the federal exchange if you don't.
This latest delay only affects those small businesses who opt to offer their employees insurance. The delay only means they can't use the exchange except through insurance brokers or agents. None of that applies to you if you have no employees you wish to cover.
Don't let all this t.ro.11ing get you upset. If you've been buying individual policies and you qualify for a subsidy, you might be surprised hiow low your premium will be.”

“You are paying for yourself and those who are sick. Your large deductible and low co-pay will make it almost impossible to pay normal claims. Thus, you are paying a lot of money to be self-insured.”
tartinc on Nov 27, 2013 at 19:22:00
“If the Cal in your user ID means the state, Blue Shield of California is currently in open enrollment until 12/6. Also, they are offering a variety of plans. You are not alone.”
Blondebabiee056 on Nov 27, 2013 at 19:18:28
“Probably not (depending on the State you live in), since restoring cancelled plans is not feasible.
Go healthinsurance. com has been contracted by CMS to assist in the ACA sign ups - their software works, properly calculated subsidies, and has licensed brokers to explain coverage to you.”
“Call centers were efficient but...I'm not happy. Super high deductible, I don't know what I'm getting, no prescription coverage, no dental, low premiums...Gosh, feel like I'm on my own. So much for healthcare coverage.
No better off than I am now with my health ins. except premiums are off the charts. Did I mention I'm in Healthy Tier 1? So, does this mean I've been paying for other people for yrs and yrs? Still paying and getting nothing in return. Oh wait! I received a 97 dollar rebate check :).”
“NetAmigo, That's what I'm saying. I've paid hundreds of thousands for 30 yrs. never used the health insurance--but my money has gone somewhere. If I do get sick, I feel like I may not even be insured adequately.
Do I get hospice care? Will I be ignored if I have a life-threatening disease? The brochures, reps, etc., don't seem to address all of these things...and because I've stayed healthy I haven't studied it.”
“Dazed and confused. It's choosing from two evils. I get a super high deductible, much lower premiums (with new plan) or a lower deductible and off the charts monthly premiums (with old plan).
Never ever met deductible--not even close. Might as well as put a paper with the two plans on a dart board, turn around and toss.
Bottom line: Health insurance for healthy people is not perfect. I feel like I'm paying for the unhealthy people. I'm not even sure what I get if I do get ill. It's all too confusing.”
parchedgoose on Nov 14, 2013 at 12:22:35
“all insurance is that way...health, home, auto or life....until you actually need it no one ever truly understands what they have bought....you get a few pages showing you what you think you bought and they have libraries full of books to explain why you don't really have what you think you bought.....”
“Having 2nd thoughts. My premiums are lower--this is great...but my deductible is twofold. No prescription coverage. No dental coverage. I may have been better off with what I had but the insurance co. said the plan was no longer available. Like I've said, self-reliance. I pray I stay healthy and go fast. IMO, no health insurance system is perfect--unless you're wealthy.”

“Many "supporters" of this debacle don't even really understand what a deductible is. Wait 'till they find out!”
