My 20 year old daughter received 9 vaccines by the time she turned 5 years old.
My now 6 year old twin boys received 40 vaccines by the time they turned 48 months old (was assured it was safe, even though they were born 4 weeks early, and not to worry, and they MUST have them anyway, or would not be allowed to attend public schools)
One twin boy started to regress around 34 months old. Had no idea what was going on. Dr admitted that one twin has Autism and gave them 8 more vaccines on this very same day of diagnosis before we even had a chance to know what Autism was.

“Every state in the US has vaccine exemptions. Please don't believe the lies about not being able to go to school. Every American child is offered free schooling and that can NOT be taken away. Every government school in this nation has children who are not vaccinated, or who are not up to date on vaccinations.

I recently tweeted back to our Local news (KOIN 6) for making such a scare to folks to get the H1N1.. How their one story was talking about a FERET getting the Swine flu -- And in the story, it states the Feret is recovering well now etc.

I now have three children. One 20 yrs old, (from previous marriage) and twin boys born 4 weeks early by C section (with a shot of some steroid to help their lungs) born July 31st 2003.

Yes (actually have twin boys, of which one regressed: lost speech and eye contact, started toe walking around 34 months old, quit going on the potty, refused to eat certain foods he used to eat ect. Finally dx'd with ASD shortly after they turned 4 years old) They've recently turned 6 yrs old and he is still in diapers to go #2.
How is he or she being treated?
As much as we can afford on one income and relying on public educational school system, which also runs on a shoe string budget.

However, we have given him 250 mcg melatonin a night for sleep (a very small amt is all that is needed), it helps him get much needed rest and he is happier the next day. It also naturally raises glutathione. We also avoid Tylenol because it reduces glutathione. At age 4 yrs old we refused to put him Ritalin per the dr's recommendation (that is all they would do for him and saying there is no cure for Autism)
So instead of Ritalin, (after my own research, again) he takes 50 mg of Sunthianine twice a day. It helps him calm down and without side affects and he is able to stay alert and learn etc.”

Listen, when you have the time, read through some of my posts, looking specifically for where I reference The Neurology of Autism or go to my blog which you can find on my profile. There is a VAST world of research out there on autism that most parents do not have access to. The Neuroloigy of Autism is actually an affordable text, around 30 dollars and takes the latest (as of 2005) research by neurologists into autism and summarizes it. Seriously eye opening read.
I'm all for making waves, just make sure you're getting them going in the right direction. :-)”

They will start injecting fetuses and when SIDS becomes even more common and the schools have hardly any "normally developing children" there will be a crisis and even more people will stop vaccinating. read my posts over the blogs here and you will see my views are that of mistrust of the pharma industry. i am a skeptic and am suspicious of anything which involves profit. the pharma industry has been caught with many sins on it hands. however, at the same time, i am a logical person who realises that we are in need of treatments for out ailments and that vitamins / homeopathy etc aint going to cure heart disease, cancer and other major diseases. in addition to this, i believe that vaccines are an important part of our healthcare. if they did cause problems in your children, i am sorry and would not wish any harm on anyone. however, no treatment is 100% safe.

“You should not feel that you are to blame. Say it were true. Did you make the best decision at the time, the right decision based on what you knew? Then you did what you could. You were diligent, you acted in their best interest. What if a doctor recommended antibiotics and your child had an allergic reaction and was harmed? Would you feel to blame? You made the best decision, the right decision? What good does beating yourself up do? If it were genetic, how is it your fault? You didn't decide which genes would be passed, you didn't have anything to do with the activation of these genes, or the mutations, deletions, additions, etc, that they have found to be implicated in autism. Not your fault regardless of the cause. So where does the anger, the bitterness, the hurt get you? Nowhere. It feeds on itself, builds on itself until it absorbs all visible light.

“40 vaccines and 48 months later- Aug 2007, our one twin sons dx'd with regressive ASD. Compare that to when my daughter received NINE vaccines by the time she hit 5 years old back in 1990... I kick myself every day... every day.
And now to face our insurance company that would rather put him on Ritalin than to provide him much needed THERAPY is absolutely appalling!
What is wrong with our country? And more importantly, what is wrong with the vamped up vaccine schedule or else on our kids these days?

“We were lied to. It's not your fault or any parents fault. We all did what we thought was the proper thing to do at that time. If everything went alright, we wouldn't be second guessing ourselves.
You didn't fail as a parent. Sounds to me like your a good mom who spends plenty of time with her children. And that's the number one quality of a good parent, spending time with their children.
What if your twins were more "normal" or "mainstream"? How much time would you get to spend with them then? When our judgement day comes, we will reflect on all the times we had with our loved ones, not on superficial things we aquired throughout our life.
My wife was well on her career when my son was dx'd. We would have spent our whole lives working, rushing around, eating out instead of in. Just living the American dream. But now she's a homemaker, we homeschool, we eat together, laugh together, fight together, read together, fight together, and life really slowed down for us. My son is a blessing in disguise. He makes us see everything in a whole new light.
I went through every emotion possible when I learned about my son's autism. From shock to fear to anger. But now it's grateful. I'm so grateful. I truly hope you reach this level if you haven't already. Your family will always be in our prayers, Doug.”

Not sure if you caught this 4 minute NPR news report but I heard it while driving in the car a few days ago called:
'76: Bell Bottoms, Legionnaire's Disease, Swine Flu

I vaguely remember when this incident took place and naturally as a young teen, I passed on getting the vaccine that 40 million other panicked people took. Some people that had this vaccine back then acquired side effects - some ended up with a nerve disorder.
I'll just stick to washing my hands OFTEN, keeping myself hydrated and eating well just as I did back in '76.
Oh and I also survived the Chicken Pox back in the late 60's. Hopefully I will be one of the lucky ones that will not get Shingles due to how the Chicken Pox Vaccine has been so successful but now many that have been inoculated for Chicken Pox now face getting Shingles.”
