“"she implied that rationed care would lead to elderly or disabled people being denied care to save money."
Sloppy sentence, or intentional implication that what we're for (that Palin is against) is "rationed care"?
Funny sentences are ruling the day. News woman on MSNBC this morning said "Moderate Democrats worried about holding their congressional seats voted against the health care package, and Democrats who voted for it are now in the Republican crosshairs ."
What IS that? Who put us on the bottom? The man we put on top! The illusion that Republicans are in charge is as good as reality. Mr. Obama took what we gave him and turned it over to the side that lost the election.
Tired of complaints about Obama's betrayals? We should march like the wingnuts do? First, if we did, it would get no such coverage by the MSM (the gay rights marches were ignored). Second, since when do the voters speak via national election and then have to take off work and spend the kids' college funds to travel to Washington and go on the march for the next four years to get it done?
MoveOn and others are knocking themselves out trying to keep on, because our elected president ISN'T doing it, WE are left to do it. Every road we finish, he demolishes, so that we're kept busy starting over instead of moving forward.
Palin is in charge. Liebermann is boss. Who put them there? You know who it was.”

“Your strategy is not at all helpful. Going after the President because you are frustrated with Congress is odd. He did not elect our Reps and Senators, we did. He cannot force his choices on Congress. Unlike Dubya, he is not the decider or a dictator. If the President puts himself into Congress' business too far, then he will wind up the same way that Clinton did on health care reform -- defeated. If we look at the evidence, many said health care reform would not make it through committee. It did. They said it would not contain a public option post committee. It does. They said it would not be deficit neutral and have a means to pay for the Bill. It does. So far, so good. Is the process ugly and unwieldy? Yes. Are the negotiations completed? No. Until the process is complete, we won't know what exactly will survive to the final Bill. We elected these folks to carry this agenda. Let's keep up the constructive efforts (email, phone calls, letters), and keep down the hysteria and bashing for now.”

“What a pat notion.
My Granddad was in the Cavalry in WW One, my father was a 17-year-old Sailor in WW 2, a pilot in Korea, an Army captain at 30, a civilian flight instructor (helicopters) at Fort Sill in the first year of Vietnam involvement. My son is a 22-year-old sergeant, an infantryman in Iraq, 30 miles from Iran at present, his second tour, his next will be Afghanistan. I didn't play sports because my family moved around too much, as my father was a pilot for Petroleum Helicopters. Growing up, I had everything "yelled into" me, and more, that I needed, thank you very VERY much.
You're having it too easy with that pat, supercilious comeback to our dissatisfaction with President Obama, Benton. Much too easy. I strenuously object to how easy that was for you to spout.”

“There's that documentary "Does America Have a Ruling Class" where for the first time I saw it spelled out that we ARE slaves. We work for pathetic wages doing work that is worth much, much more, so that the hereditary princes of the ruling class can have 10 castles on the Meditereanean instead of only four.
So: the United Corporations of America and its population of slaves.
We have shackles we COULD shake off: American Idol watching, addiction to foodlike substances, driving short distances that could be walked (or run). Why not start SOMEWHERE, anywhere, and influence our progeny to do as we do?”

I'm psyching up for jail, prison, Guantanamo, doesn't matter, it has to be done, and we are headed fast for "nothing left to lose" status anyway. “Holding the GOP to "blame" and all the insufferable inanity happening on the right is the well-engineered distraction, and it is WORKING. Check out every liberal blog, see the peeple bleeding from the eyes that Glenn Beck dissed Obama's Nobel Peace Prize, in spite of every betrayal Obama/Emanuel has committed in a fraction of the time it took Bush/Cheney to run over us.
Oh, it's working. I do it myself! We have to stop, stop it NOW, don't do it, don't be led into it, ignore the Right, they are a circus intended to turn our heads away from what is going on! PLEEEZ.”

Then Obama backtracked, if he was forced I don't know, but nevertheless it is our congress, both sides who with their bad decisions got us into this mess and are refusing to take steps to fix it. Seems to me, the bleeding has to be stopped first and I don't see it happening.”

Remember on The Daily Show, soon after the inauguration or the win, I forget which, Obama was on some "Meet the Press' kind of TV show, and Jon Stewart poked fun at how "he's so laid back he looks like he's getting a massage!" Yeah, Mr. Obama did look cool, even blase, even asleep, or spellbound, or bewitched, something. The way he looked to me was like he'd either just been shown the Queen of Hearts, or he'd been taken into the quiet room where the REAL government explained to him that his title of "president" belongs in quotes, that is, if he loves his wife and daughters and knows what's good for him. But then, I watch an awful lotta TV and the novels I read are extra-pulpy.”

In order to really inform the electorate, cable and network TV news is gravely needed nowadays. People work hard, are busy raising children, TV is often all there is, and only an hour or 2 of it at best. That's what television NEWS is there for. So you need not fear.
