“This absolutely infuriates me.

We had plenty of money to gut Iraq.

We had plenty of money to REBUILD IRAQ, including their new SINGLE-PAYER HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mark-dorlester/guaranteed-health-care-in_b_280528.html

We had plenty of money to hand out to bankers with no strings attached. No one on the right complained it was going to bankrupt the nation when they got their handouts!!!!

Now, we can't have a d*****d single-payer health care bill passed because it might upset the wealthy insurance corporate executives who bankroll both parties. We can't get out of Afghanistan or Iraq because, heck, now we've got no jobs for those soldiers to come home to. We can't have a bailout for the middle class because, well, they don't really matter much in Washington - especially in the Senate. They've got no money left to lobby with now, so who needs them?

This nation is in the midst of a coup d'etat and the politicians want us to docilely go away and let them be with their lobbyists and perks while the nation is decimated by a terminal orgy of corruption and greed.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! When are people going to get angry enough to put a stop to this grand larceny? When are the people of this nation going to demand justice? When are the people of this nation going to demand their country back from these criminally insane modern-day robber barons?”

"Dodd and others drew a distinction between Bernanke's economic leadership and the operations of the Fed as an institution itself. (How'd he do that? By throwing trillions at the banks? Good job!)

If confirmed to another term, Bernanke vowed to work with Congress to overhaul the nation's financial regulatory structure and to bring about stronger and more effective supervision."

This is an insult to the American people, this should ALREADY HAVE BEEN DONE.

Call your congresspeople to block this confirmation. WE NEED AN AUDIT OF THE FED!

Obama's Unavoidable Cure for the Afghanistan Cancer

Commented Dec 03, 2009 at 19:56:40 in World

“That was then, and this is now, Bob.

What about Karzai's brother, the drug lord, that runs the south where the crops are? The crops nobody wants to talk about.

What about us having to pay off the Taliban not to shoot at us?

This is the same thing they did with Iraq...they'll say "the afghan troops aren't ready"

and even when they are "ready", once we leave, don't you think that leaves the Taliban with freshly trained recruits?

There is much new information out about this war, it's corrupt and a waste of our time. The Afghans need to fight for their own land against two corrupt regimes, we just chose one to back. Wrong.

The military industrial complex will never let us leave.”
