“The ONLY reason the Carbon Credit Market hasn't collapsed is because O'Biden put an ILLEGAL floor under it by Executive Fiat without Congressional approval. The UK has REFUSED to underwrite the Carbon Credit Market, and Australia is in the process of REFUTING their Carbon Tithe, the price of Carbon has PLUNGED by more than 50%, making all those Green Billionaires into Green Millionaires.

“So you like the toxic emissions from coal, oil and gas. In case you don't understand combustion physics, there are many other toxic components that get released into the air, water and food when the greenhouse gasses get dumped into the atmosphere. Cancers, respiratory ailments and other fatal and chronic illnesses continue to escalate while we continue to argue about climate change.
If only otherwise intelligent pepole would be able to see the forest from the trees.”
“There is irrefutable evidence that a US Carbon Tithe would CRUSH the
American economy, whose real GDP, ex-Finance and ex-Mil.Gov, is
continually SHRINKING, plunging US into a 1930s-style Depression,
increasing your energy costs, utility costs, grocery costs by +37%,
overnight, flushing the retail and online economies in a NY second,
and rippling upstream to shatter the 'Cold Chain' and 'Big Box' jobs
upon which most ordinary young Americans rely for their survival.
Go ahead, I know you want to Deny it. I know you want to crow about
the 'living wage' jobs as 'independent contractor' PV panel installers,
any small profits you make begging home'owners' to please pay you
eaten away by Carbon Tithes and AHA mandates. You'll be driving
that little junker Nissan of yours to the wrecking yard long before
you'll find a Green Salvation retirement in 'alternative energy' jobs.
But don't worry, there's no problem that Mil.Gov.Sci.Edu can't solve,

“Example? NOAA sea level rise +1.8mm/year is now considered to have stabilized.
NOAA 'Deep Sea' array of +0.06 degree per year 'warming' is now not detectable.
NOAA Winter 2013 all-globe temps were Coldest Winter in 30 Years for ENTIRE
Northern Hemisphere, at -1.9 degrees COLDER, more than the entire 1.6 degree
'warming' since the Civil War... in one season. All NOAA research report data.”

“You failed to mention what QuiGon points out Cipher. How about the sea levels rising. Do you know why? It's because of the obvious...the Glaciers have all but disappeared and where do you think all that cold water went and still is going effectively reducing ocean temperatures which in turn affects the climate. No? Oh, and the earth is flat.”
QuiGon on Dec 5, 2013 at 10:49:53
“Links? You forgot to include any. They look like this:
“"The planet is going to be warmer than most species living on Earth today have seen it, including humans. The pace of change is orders of magnitude higher than what species have experienced in the last tens of millions of years."
Except that's pure bunk. The climate has changed more radically in just the last 2000 years than any creature alive today will see in their entire lifetimes. We are still in an uncharacteristically BENIGN climate period. All the greatest storms in written history occurred in PREVIOUS CENTURIES. It's almost winter solstice, and Northern Hemisphere has had the QUIETEST YEAR IN LIVING MEMORY.”

Tell that to ski resort owners, farmers and agri-corporations, coastal city managers, penguins and polar bears. "Averages" are for baseball heroes and income tax, not hard scientific research.' - um, OK professor. It must be so, because you say it's so. I guess it's just too bad that no scientist has ever or will agree with you. That's because they actually know what they are talking about.
The same people who talk about the 'global _average_ temperature' going up also put robotic explorers on Mars, but they got nothing on you. You comment on HP! Hurry everyone, let's gather around Cipher and follow his rules of when math should and shouldn't be used. LOL!!!!
... because after all, Cipher (and every GOPer) knows that _if_ climate change is real, it must be Obama's fault.... because _all_ of our problems (income disparity, overeating, house prices, home values and inflation) are Obama's fault, right? Inflation has been happening since the country was founded, but that's because the founding father's knew what was coming. They knew Obama would eventually get elected, even though at that time blacks were slaves and Obama would not be born for another 250 years or so. LOL!!
Cipher, when do you get out of your padded cell? I'm not sure you're ready yet.”

“Even more disturbing, since two elite university research audits found biofuels have a carbon footprint of 0.9 to 1.1 fossil fuel equivalents, but biofuels mixes
have only 75% - 80% the vehicle gas mileage of straight fossil fuels, overall,
America's biofueled carbon imprint is INCREASING by legislative MANDATE.

If so, look elsewhere for agreement on that, as I think it's a major issue and we should curtail greenhouse gas emissions, which means using fewer fossil fuels. That said, biofuels have many problems and mandates for them need to be reconsidered.”

“Quick Answer: It won't. The private climatologists, you know, the ones who work for Corporate and the Bankers and Insurers, have studied the last five ice ages, and found rapid onset in as little as 10 to 20 years, which means the vast majority of you reading this blog will get to experience Your Personal Perpetual Winter, considering that NOAA has already reported that 2013's winter was 1.9 degrees COLDER across the ENTIRE Northern Hemisphere, more than the entire 1.4 degrees 'warming' since the Civil War, and the 'Deep Ocean Heating' (sic) is no longer within detectable limits, in fact, the regions of warm ocean are shrinking, and at this moment, as far south as Baja, and as far north as Ecuador, you need a wetsuit to swim in the ocean. In fact, this last summer's Columbia River salmon return was the largest run in modern history since the dams went in, due to, according to DFW marine experts the 'favorable COOLING ocean conditions'.”

“Chipher - The United States was the Number One manufacturing nation in the world until 2010, when it was overtaken by China. US manufacturing is and has been growing, interrupted only by the 2008-2009 recession. China manufactures about $2.9 billion annually. The US manufactures $2.4 billion per year.
Although many corporations have moved labor intensive production offshore, or set up new plant in the developing world rather than the US, the US has never slacked off in industrial production.
The US has, in fact, cleaned up its manufacturing processes using technology developed for that purpose. Since that technology already exists, it is entirely possible for China to do the same thing.”

“I hit the lotto my last year in college, moving in with three Chosen who used their family connections to pay their way through school by dealing. Oh, we had the world on a short-leash, the women that used to come and go, the big plans for graduate school, the careers that would soar above the world. Then the women stopped coming by, and talk of careers turned to talk of bud scores, as hours, even days would go by in a blissful blue haze, stumbling towards graduation.
I hit the lotto again, graduating mid-year, escaping into a 'straight' job, and never heard from them again ... until one day out on the Ventura Highway, I'm not making this up, there was one of my college roommates, in ragged pants and a surplus backpack, heading towards Frisco. Gave him a ride. Last I heard he was living in
Oakland with bikers, then ended up in prison.
One down, when, believe it or not, 15 years later, in some anonymous hippie store on the edge of empire, there were my two roommates, food stamps in hand and a grocery bag full of munchies. We hugged like to break our backs, and broke out the smoke, and talked about old times, and all the adventures that transpired in those 15 years ... then I realized they were still doing the same thing as before. Working cash trades, dealing on the side, living in crash pads on welfare.
They were super fly!”

“Interesting story. Question: Was pot "legal" then?
Since the issue is about "ending the utterly failed 13+ Billion d0llar government tax payer funded war on drugs" and the legalization or decriminalization of marijuana...I suggest to you that the story of your college roommate's not so impressive lives...as you have implied, due to their marijuana "use"...would have been the same, "legal or not"
There are equally interesting stories to tell about others who smoked pot in college and others who even continued through out their lives, who went on have brilliant profitable careers and live highly successful lives....so maybe I misunderstood the point of your comment?
The "loser" stereotype picture you painted of your room mates is hardly the picture of what happens to everyone who smokes pot, I guarantee you this country is full of white collar Corporation CEO's, Lawyers, Bankers etc. who also smoke marijuana.
I also suggest that you could have painted the same picture about your roommates if their choice of "vice" would have been alcohol. The streets are full of homeless alcoholics....and alcohol is legal.
If I "misunderstood" your point, I apologize. What was it exactly?”
