To one of the comments about the spending during the W. Bush presidency due to war, they tend to forget that when the government was best positioned to reduce the national debt and the economy did not need a boost from spending due to tax cuts, Bush did what was counter to all logic and cut taxes. Who benefited? Every tax payer, but who benefited more were those who rely on Capital gains for majority of their income. Basically, the wealthy.
I also agree that the cure for government waste is accountability and not simply cutting government. I find it ironic when people complain about too much taxation even with the current low taxes and then also complain about poor education (Bush could not fund his own education initiatives despite a fairly healthy economy), poor roads, poor public safety, insufficient national security, etc.”
