“I want to take from you no more than what you are refusing others. You are actually spending time in your life trying to refuse health care to fellow Americans; people who lost their health care due to lose of work, or pre-existing conditions, and then there are those who are simply unable to pay.
If you are really that selfish and, more importantly, uneducated as to how a society functions to solve common problems (once again, you do know what a common problem is?), you shouldn't be allowed that which you are refusing the less fortunate. Should you?”

“Why don't you get it? Even those who are ensured right now are paying way, way more than they should have to. It's not just about the uninsured, nor the helpless.
If I told you the guy in the next town was allowed to buy a new car for $20k, but you the best you will be able to do is $25k, you would be upset, right? So why are so many people so happy to pay these ridiculous prices for health insurance, and watch their premiums rise and rise and rise? Every other country in the whole world pays far, far less for their insurance, and in most of them they can't be dropped for preexisting conditions, can't go bankrupt because of health care bills, because they don't get the bill.”

“There's no property involved in health insurance. Please learn something about what you are commenting about before commenting.
We would be taking from you what you are refusing others. If you don't want to participate in a society, leave. This is a society, which means we work together to solve common problems. This is a common problem, becoming more common each day. It needs to be solved through a common effort, not by insisting everyone get their own. That's not a society, and if that's what you want, go find it (somewhere else).”

I think they were hoping against hope that their democrats would provide them with health care. Remember that just because the teabaggers are the most vocal doesn't mean they are in the majority. Most people in these districts are probably the ones that need the help the most. No matter your political idealogy your familys welfare comes first.”

“I'm only 39 years old. I guess at 39 things just change too much and sometimes too fast, so you get used to it.
I hope, though, as a senior I don't get so used to things not changing that I actually go to the polls to reverse a decision the legislature of the day passed and the governor of the day signed.
After all, at that point in my life, honestly, the legislation will not affect me in any way. Beside that, the day has obviously changed at that point, along with the attitudes and values. Those younger than myself made a choice about how they want their world run, so who am I to try voting it down?
I hope I can still see that when I get to be a senior. I doubt it will matter much, though. I still won't be part of the party of "NO"!”

Are Moderates No Longer Welcome In The Republican Party?

“You know what really makes the whole game suck for republicans, democrats, liberals, and conservatives alike? It's when you have these people like Gingrich who flop from supporting candidate to candidate without even considering ideology, policy, ethics, or really anything other than the team (party).
Gingrich now supports the conservative in the NY 23rd race, and the man DOESN'T EVEN LIVE IN THE DISTRICT!!
Gingrich changed from supporting a moderate republican to a conservative and the only reason appears to be the fact that both consider themselves republicans. If he really wanted a conservative, why would he have supported Scozzafa in the first place? She and Hoffman have little in common concerning policy.
So the question to the voter is, you have a choice between voting for a man who claims to be conservative but doesn't even live in your district. He couldn't even answer the questions concerning the district posed to him off mike just before his recent radio interview. Are you really voting for the district, or the team? Do you think he really cares about your district?”
