“They would have been on it within 24 hours and there would be outrage all over the media & in megachurches etc. And those who put it up would find themselves investigated by the FBI. Hey, they did it to perfectly innocent people just for planning to protest.

But the laws allowing that to be done do exist for a reason (though W misused them), and hate speech is not protected by the 1st amendment-- and this crosses that line.”

“You're not free to incite violence against people either. A sign that accuses the president of being involved in a violent religiously based war against Americans and America and issues a :wake up" call could well be taken as doing just that. After all, if the president is a secret and dangerous enemy bent on destroying you and yours, it's not far for many who buy this to take the next step. And of course, the racist imagery thrown in doesn't hurt either.”

“"Can you imagine the implication of having the government block expression no matter how untrue or stupid it is."

actually, blocking things that are untrue and stupid isn't a real problem. Are you suggesting that untrue and stupid things are exactly what we need to worry about blocking? Can't follow that logic.

But the issue is that there is a legitimate right to block things that promote violence, directly or indirectly.”

“From definitions.uslegal.com

"Hate speech is a communication that carries no meaning other than the expression of hatred for some group, especially in circumstances in which the communication is likely to provoke violence. It is an incitement to hatred primarily against a group of persons defined in terms of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and the like. Hate speech can be any form of expression regarded as offensive to racial, ethnic and religious groups and other discrete minorities or to women."

I have yet to see anyone inciting hatred and violence on this site. What do you really suppose the point of this sign is, though? Shall we interpret the racist cartoon black head, the turban on the black head, the claim that the president of the US is behind violent jihad against the US, the call to "wake up"? I think it passes the test on multiple grounds.”

“ok, a quick google image search brings up this picture, among others, which, as skinnt as she is in it, shows a completely different waist shape than on the cover. She has never had a pronounced waist, even very thin, so there is no question they played around with this picture. the only alternative is that she had several ribs removed.
