“I'm just glad the Dems manned up and are trying to fix our health care fiasco. The GOP had the chance, they were too busy getting us into $trillion ground wars to even notice the terrible problem facing Americans.”
“I see, you believe this is an isolated incident. And you further believe that a commutation in MO is "likely".
Wow. You are wildly confused.”

“well, if it isn't likely, that sucks for that criminal.... because, even though it is obvious that he didn't care about obeying the law, a life sentence is excessive.
and if it is not an isolated incident, why haven't i seen or heard of others?
within the articles i read about that cat, his advocates admitted that he was the only case they were aware of.... that was part of the argument for the reduction in sentence, that he was being treated differently than others with similar criminal backgrounds.
i'm only confused about how people think that prisons have been built to house anybody that has grown a few plants.... it hasn't happened.
even this criminal didn't only grow a few plants.
the "war on drugs" is not about individuals growing for their own use... it isn't even mostly about pot at all.
the argument against the war on drugs is a good one in most cases... but not when the impression is given that it's about people growing a few plants. that's misleading and just plain false..”
“People in MO get life sentences without parole for marijuana and only marijuana and NO, this does not mean growing marijuana. Look up Jeff Mizanskey for starters.”

“that isn't people, that is one person (who is likely to be comuted) and that is not a federal inmate, that is a MO inmate.
one person sentenced like that does not make for a population explosion in prisons.”
“When you ban an extremely popular houseplant, yeah you're gonna have to build a ship-ton of expensive prisons.”

“you would be right if the majority of inmates incarcerated for drug offenses had anything to do with pot.... but they aren't. and absolutely none of the ones that did have something to do with pot have been convicted of growing a few plants in their houses.”
