I've learned over the years -- in my profession anyway -- that you can't help people very much if they don't help you to help them.
The American working class is not worth helping. You see how they treat us, you see how they vote.”

“So, if the folks stuck working at a place like Amazon increased their marketable skills and left for better jobs, then would places like Amazon improve the work environment for the new employees replacing the old? Or, do we still have a problem here? A problem that will continue to deepen as America races to the bottom line; that bottom line being Mexico and China.
I also hear conservatives saying that people without healthcare should look for another job. Then the country wouldn't have this crisis, right? Oh, wait, other people would fill those jobs and, gee, more people without healthcare!”

“Ok - what is your solution? Pay them more? How much more? Who will decide that - the government? Based on what? Based on what you think is fair? And you want to provide them health care too? Ok. Now, what is that going to do to Amazon's costs, which in turn will affect pricing for consumers? Do you think that Amazon will lose business as a result of all this? Do you think it's possible that companies in other countries could make up that lost business? What are you going to do about that? Make them pay their folks more too? And have them provide their folks with healthcare too? And how are you going to pull all of that off because what you end up with is one world government that is socialist in ideology. Not saying that would be a good thing, or a bad thing, but it would be pretty f*cking hard to pull off in my lifetime, or the lifetime of my great grandchildren, if and when they are born.”

In fact, corporations are selling themselves short with these old work standards. It's proven time and again that fair, respectful treatment of employees is a win-win.
Amazon's management needs to talk to Steve Wynn and get an education on how to treat employees. He's smart enough to know that engaging employees into the common interest of the organization is the key to success.
As far as their fulfillment center methods Amazon is again exhibiting ignorance and backwardness. Their owners need to visit IKEA and take lots of notes.”
