“And what about the horrifically abused, factory-farmed chickens that are pumped with unbelievable amounts of hormones and antibiotics? I have a list of all the blatantly homophobic companies that give millions upon millions to anti-gay Political Pacs and will not support them. To me, it is just like canceling out my hard-earned donations and work in the community with LGBT teens.”

“I would be impressed if it was in the $50,000 per point range as the salary of the top 10 NBA players is $18 to $30 Million...! This does not include endorsement money. And. NO, all charity money does not go to Administrative costs as to comments I have read here. I study up extensively on the figures of any charity I support and there are many reputable sites that have all the figures for review, also. For anyone interested in helping with the total devastation and crisis caused by Haiyan, world humanitarian organizations and highly respected individuals connected to the world humanitarian community are giving a thumbs up to donating to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). MSF is already highly coordinated with the government of the Philippines and other grassroots organizations that can provide local aid to relieve the emergency needs of the population. They were able to send two cargo planes of medical and relief items to Cebu the day after Haiyan.”

“I haven't spent a holiday with my biological family for over 25 years. They (spearheaded by my father) refused to stop talking about politics and religion and I dropped out. It was by far one of the greatest and most freeing adult decisions I have ever made in my life. I spend my holidays with my family of choice, my open-minded adult children or at the ocean on a retreat. When my father was on his deathbed a few years ago, he said to me, "I so respect you...you are the only person that ever held me accountable for my disputatious behavior."”

“Our family was almost wrecked by one person, and he's not even biological relative, but one by marriage. He was using other family member accounts to find Facebook posts to get mad at, because no one would friend him. So he would start off the discussion screaming.

Personally, I don't talk politics with family of a different political view, except for telling this person to stuff it when he constantly brings it up.”

“I have raised and been around many babies. I question this video completely and totally. These babies look like they are practically in a coma and have been purposefully positioned in a small sink so they cannot do anything but what the adults taking this video have decided to accomplish. Not enjoyable to me at all. . . .”

“Seriously? Were you raised in a gov. operated orphanage or something? Comatose babies would not reach for each other, or react to ANY stimulation. Comatose babies CERTAINLY would NOT be so healthy that they would be in a bath unencumbered with a billion leads & IV's either. They'd be in incubators...albeit-TOGETHER because it's been shown sick baby twins always do better TOGETHER. in NICU's.”

“I boycott companies that give financial support to any political groups that believe the laws in our country need to be based on their religious dogma. This is the sniff test. Curves is another one....they donate heavily to anti-abortion and limited access to birth control groups. Salvation Army, also. A substantial percentage of the money you drop in those buckets goes to anti-gay political PAC's. My friend was in a Chick-Fil-A recently in South Carolina that had a table in the lobby with an open bible and packets of information about "being saved as the righteous ones." They give millions upon millions to anti-gay PACS. Hobby Lobby was recently in a great deal of trouble because their answer to why they don't carry Jewish Holiday crafts was "we don't cater to those people." Product recall is a powerful vote....do your research and stop supporting these companies that want our country to be a theocracy.”

“They were given tax exemption because their donated monies were to be used to help the poor and go to charitable services. Also, under this provision, churches were NOT to be involved in politics. Obviously, none of this is true any longer. Churches have become political PACs and some of these evangelical preachers have a personal net worth listed in the hundreds of millions and they live in mansions with a lavish-beyond-lavish lifestyle. We need to change these tax laws as soon as possible.”

“I worked on a psych floor for many years. The folks there were sane and intelligent compared to the Westboro Hate Flock. So many people have the same ideology as Westboro, they are just covert and passive about it. Perhaps Westboro is serving some purpose by bringing this hate, ignorance and ugliness in such a glaring way out in the open for all to observe. In addition, it brings up another important issue. We need to revisit and revise the tax laws. NO TAX EXEMPTION for churches. Westboro is a hate group and is hiding behind this church exemption.”

Rose1214 on Oct 30, 2013 at 13:01:10

Not only are they TP'ers they also belong to the same religious group that a former, 2012 candidate for president belongs to. I think they will be around for a while. Hopefully they will continue to lose power and persuasion.”

“It absolutely befuddles me beyond what my brain can begin to process why folks keep showing up at these sexist, homophobic, racist (yes, African Americans can be racist), anti-science, patriarchal, hierarchical institutions that preach hate, mean-spiritedness and exclusion. If we stop going and stop throwing money in the basket, they will be forced to either change or close up shop. Product recall is powerful. I will not give a nickel to any church. I belong to and financially support organizations that truly help, educate and encourage people, not kick them to the ground and then step on them with the heel of my shoe in the name of a warped version of a loving divinity.”

“I always felt, irregardless of her many and substantial talents, a certain disingenuousness, incongruence and disjointedness about Gwyneth. In addition, all these diets, cleanings and food fads she vigorously promotes can be extremely dangerous and she has admitted as much regarding a few that she touted over the years. The world will not come to an end over a "revealing" Vanity Fair article and the more she protests the more it makes me think she has lots to hide. Gwyneth always makes it to the top of the list as one of the most disliked Hollywood celebrities by other celebrities and those in the business. There are, obviously, many valid reasons for this. I love Vanity Fair and will continue to subscribe.”

Cassandra45 on Oct 16, 2013 at 13:50:01

“Fanned and faved, my sentiments exactly. I think she's raising a fuss to garner more publicity, personally. If the article turns out to be quotes from Gwynnie, she's going to have a hard time pretending none of it happened.”

Rozanna on Oct 16, 2013 at 13:29:02

“I wasn't aware that she was so disliked. She does come across as somewhat snooty and above the rest of us, but I have gotten used to that about her. She evidently is actually a rather nice person. She is also a brilliant actress, and I do wish she would do something more challenging, along the lines of "Proof" or the Sylvia Plath film that she did. She has true depth as an actress, so it is kind of strange that she seems so shallow when she is interviewed. She was on Hello Ross a few nights ago and came across as delightful. Ross is one of her best friends.”
