“I never said the didn't hunt Humpbacks, they do, and that's wrong. They also hunt Fin whales but as I did say, the vast majority are Minke whales which have a rather healthy population. I also never said dolphins or whales are threats to humans I only pointed out that they are in fact not all "gentle" creatures as you fantasize them to be.

I also know know what animals in captivity or them killing their handlers has to do with the morality of eating them. As for Mansonato and the inhumane way we factory farm...so that's ok but we shouldn't eat whales? So I assume you are vegan otherwise your entire argument in an exercise in hypocrisy. You need not apologize for the unfan had you not I would have seen to it ;-)”

“No I don't care just like I don't care that people eat pigs, or cows, or dogs, or whatever people want to eat. The vast majority of the whales the Japanese hunt are Minke whales that aren't endangered species. I agree it's wrong to hunt and eat a species that is endangered but if it's not then again I don't care.

As for "enough of them being killed in the old-days" um.. we kill billions of chickens cows, pigs, and fish. Under your logic do they too deserve a break from our feasting? As for Gentle...killer whales are some of the most violent animals on earth and dolphins (which are essentially small whales) are the only other species other than man that is known to kill for no reason other than to kill.

So, really it's a whole lot of silliness to care about if people eat whales.”

“Well, I think you need a little more research:
The Japanese kill humpback whales (an endangered species).
Wild killer whales are not considered a threat to humans, although there have been cases of captives killing or injuring their handlers at marine theme parks. I wonder why that happened. They are wild animals, and why would they take kindly to being kept in captivity?
Dolphins, in general are not a threat to mankind.
As for tirade about chickens, cows, pigs and fish, those are mostly raised by 'inhumans' - say thanks to Monsanto.
Sorry, but I have to Unfan you!”

Sisseline on Jun 3, 2011 at 23:30:02

“You don't care? That's appalling! You ate it and didn't like it - good for you if it's not to your liking. Meanwhile some of us do care. Whales should not be killed for food. Enough of those creatures died from the old-time whaling that let them close to extinction. Those gentle, mammoth creatures deserve to be left alone.
Fanning you is only in the hope of that you shall put on your thinking-cap and do some research and educate yourself.”
