“I read that Emanuel actually went to Israel and served on a Defense team during the First Gulf War. He never served in the U. S. military, but he went to Israel and served in theirs? “As an Obama supporter, I am very disappointed. He has betrayed us by turning his back on his campaign promises regarding healthcare. He cut deals with the insurers and PHARMA and handed off the rest to Congress without any leadership or pressure to design a Bill that even resembled his campaign bullet points. He has backed off real reform in favor of the corporate interests at every turn. What we now have is a giveaway to insurers and PHARMA and almost nothing for the people. Don't blame Rahm. Obama picked him because he is an arroagant bulldog and whatever he is doing has the seal of approval from Obama. Last nights capitulation to Lieberman will be marked as the moment the voters turned their backs on this President and the Democratic Majority. Obama will be a one term President, Reid won't be re-elected and the DEMs will loose a lot of seats. We gave them an opportunity and they proved themselves unworthy. The GOP is worse, but without an energized electorate, the DEMs won't be able to hold on. After last night, Democratic voter turnout will be tepid at best.”
