“CIT is obviously having problems. If they go under there goes the jobs. If they go under, they will invariably take other smaller companies with them, and there goes those jobs. They needed money to stay afloat. The Democrats in congress have put tremendous pressure on the Treasury to loan TARP to companies that have almost no chance of survival. There are calls for that every day on the HuffPo.
"Just give the money to me!" It's a gift. Free money. Send it on down.
If GS had not been able to get excellent terms, they never would have entered into the 3 billion-dollar agreement with CIT. Instead of possibly losing 2.3 billion next week, the taxpayer probably would have lost his 2.3 billion last week.
So once again, the mob wants to lynch GS and they've nothing here that is untoward except be smart. We should have loaned them the entire 700 billion. By now they probably would have paid it all back plus 119 billion in interest. Good grief, that would be horrible.”

That actually happens in all other countries, yet you wouldn't want it to happen here?

“Unfortunately, real life is not as easy as that.
I've been harassed in a convenience store by the police for a little insignificant thing like buying beer legally because the officer was confused as to the hour at night when beer can be bought. He screamed and cussed at me to but the beer back because it was after hours. The clerk had to remind the officer that I could indeed buy beer, but he (the officer) would have none of that. Screaming he ordered for me to put the beer back in the cooler. I did what he told me and afterward I drove to another store to buy my six pack of icy cold refreshing beer.
That's just one of about four times I was harassed by the police.
Police motto, "To Serve And Protect" our own self interest.”
