Too Big to Block? Why Obama Must Stop the Comcast-NBC Merger

Commented Dec 01, 2009 at 00:41:14 in Media

“If that's the case, the truth is left wing and lies are right wing. Because, believe it or not, Fixed News constantly lies.”

enigmamj replied on Dec 01, 2009 at 00:50:48

“No room for shades of gray in your world I guess. And yes, I believe Fox News is wrong on many issues. I think Msnbc is wrong on many issues as well. I am liberal on social issues but conservative on fiscal issues. I suppose that makes me a moderate”

Too Big to Block? Why Obama Must Stop the Comcast-NBC Merger

Commented Dec 01, 2009 at 00:27:17 in Media

“"maybe MSNBC may get a little fair and balanced."

You're kidding, right? Olbermann, Maddow and Schultz are about as fair and balanced as they come. You're probably watching Fox Noise to make a statement like that.”

enigmamj replied on Dec 01, 2009 at 00:36:21

“Neither Fox nor MSnbc are fair and balanced. One is left, one is right. Not very tough to figure that out”

“This from a state that didn't want to make MLK day into a national holiday. The only reason they bent on the issue was because pro football athletes boycotted Arizona from holding the Super Bowl.

And now this?

Shameful!”

“I wish they would do a similar boycott of that football team in DC who need to change their name and logo.”

Michael Jackson's Disturbing Poem

Commented Mar 08, 2009 at 14:32:32 in Home

“Remember the song "For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield? The following are part of the lyrics.

"I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down"

In this case, children were innocent people (hippies) living in the Haight-Ashbury area of San Francisco and the "man" were the cops.

In Jackson's poem, children could mean innocent human beings such as the biblical meaning "be more like a child".

Or it could really be children as in preadolescence.

Whatever the meaning, it's still poetic license and it doesn't necessarily mean that Jackson is a
pedophile.

I'm not defending Jackson, but c'mon, look at the whole picture instead of the frame.”

CaveatLector replied on Mar 08, 2009 at 17:23:09

“I am looking at the frame. And what I see is a strange acting, bizarre man who lives in seculsion, makes he children wear scarves over their faces, sleeps with young boys, abuses drugs, and can't even show up to court and act appropriate (or did you forget about the surgical masks and pajamas). Get real. This poem is every disturbing.”

“"While priests take confessions
In a serious session
And people struggle
In the hustle and bustle
In the noise and din
On the meaning of sin
We'll touch the stars, embrace the moon
Break the barrier, arrive there soon
Ride the rainbow, the cloud, the storm
Flying in the wind, changing our form

Children of the world, we'll do it
With song and dance and innocent bliss
The soft caress of a loving kiss
We'll do it."

~~

while people struggle with the meaning of sin - he's going to "do it" with "the soft caress of a loving kiss".

oh - with the children of the world.

that's the whole picture.”

“A big sigh of relief. After eight years of hoping for the best but expecting the worse, it is truly a time to breathe more freely.

What we really need now is criminal investigations of bushco to proceed.”

“What is it with you repugs that the truth doesn't matter? Facts are facts and the truth is the truth, no spinning required.

Yet you're willing to cloud your minds with lies and try to spin the truth according to your agenda, which is Illegitimate historical revisionists.

Oh, I forgot that you're a programed republican troll that spews forth whatever the neo-cons talking points are at the moment.”
