The CIA has been an independent arm of government that operates outside of the law since its inception. They've done many things without informing the President of all the details or in many cases flat out lied.

By the way, Bay of Pigs was an operation that was devised, planned and ordered by the EISENHOWER administration and was dumped in Kennedy's lap less than 3 months after he took office. He was not aware of all of the plans and did not authorize all of the operations yet he took the full blame for the failure - something your boy Bush has never done in his life.

The Diem coup was conducted by ARVN Generals and the U.S. government agreed not to interfere - there was no operational planning backed by the U.S. government and Kennedy was outraged when he learned of the execution of Diem by the ARVN Generals.

The assassination attempt on Castro's life was directly ordered by Robert F. Kennedy, not John F. Kennedy. What President in his right mind would give a direct order that could possibly spark WWIII? He had his brother handle it so he wouldn't be attached to any attempt on Castro's life.”
