“People watch and listen to what they agree with. That's why more people are watching Fox.”

“I am someone who sits on the sidelines. I sit on the sidelines and watch over the homes and families of these men and keep their families safe from crime stateside. Everyday I put my life on the line to make sure these soldiers have an America to come home to.
I am also a single father who works 6, 12 hours shifts per week to keep his son in a good school and to provide the things he needs.
I want to say to these men: you should remember it was the repubs who left you in Afghanistan with nothing and sent your comrades into Iraq with less. It was repubs who pretended all was well as more and more of our troops died.
It was the Democrats who fought for your armor, to raise your pay, and to increase your benefits, while Sen. McCain called it way too generous for your sacrifice.
I get far less than you do to keep this country safe and no one cares if I do my job right.
I voted for Obama with my son, myself, and you all on my mind. I guess in your eyes that make me a selfish member of the me generation and with that I am just fine.”

“Well, if it's any consolation, like other people on the comments here pointed out, it sounds like the subjects that were interviewed were pretty much white male commanding officers. Also, you have to keep in mind that as hard as it's been for us to get reliable information here, our troops are subject to many times the level of propaganda. I've heard stories about some of the lies that get taught to our troops by people like the ones who's testimony we hear above. The Republicans have been trying to do to our military what Musharraf did with the Pakistani military -- build them up as a loyal group in an environment they strictly controlled so that they could rely on them for political power. Fortunately, it won't work. I think the Pentagon underestimates the integrity of its own soldiers.”
